I’m a huge fan of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics’ Lip Tars, which are essentially extremely pigmented, rich lip color’s that you only need a tiny bit of to get great color. The inexpensive alternative is Sleek Makeup Pout Paint, and this was actually my first time purchasing one and trying it. I went with Minx, a very Kim Kardashian-esque nude pink shade that pretty much goes with anything and everything. To see my thoughts and plenty of swatches,
You get 0.27fl oz of product, but the applicator nozzle should be a big hint here. Look at how tiny the squeeze applicator is! These are ultra pigmented and rich, and a little bit goes a very long way. These remind me so much of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars, from the packaging to the small applicator nozzle, to the opacity of the product. Luckily, the Sleek Pout Paints are much more inexpensive.
The dot above shows you how little you actually need for your entire pout. I could probably even get away with less product than this. You need the smallest amount of product to get really opaque, gorgeous coverage. I also like that you can mix the colors together and play “chemist” to create your own custom lip shades.
What a fantastic formula this was to work with! It was very moisturizing and hydrating feeling on my lips, which is important with a pale shade like this. It didn’t have any scent to it at all which I love, and it wasn’t sticky. It was really easy to apply, and can easily be mixed with other lip colors.
I am loving this lip color for my “everyday” lip shade!
Overall: If you’re into really rich, pigmented lip color but don’t want to splurge on Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars, I highly recommend Pout Paint’s! They are smooth, creamy, and super rich in color…a little goes a very long way.
