Whenever I spot a brand new Sephora & Pantone Universe release, I get excited. They always happen to be really innovative and unique in terms of color. The Elemental Energy Eye Shadow Palette is absolutely stunning, representing Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Each of the elements contains four eyeshadow shades that are reminiscent of that particular element. It’s really such a cool concept and I haven’t seen it done before in an eyeshadow palette! I love the mix of textures and finishes this palette has as well. Peek inside for swatches!

The brand new Sephora + Pantone Universe Elemental Energy Collection is limited edition for Fall 2013 and it conveys the powerful energy of nature’s elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Inside the collection there are waterproof eye pencils, liquid liners, nail lacquers, lipsticks, and this eyeshadow palette.
This palette has sixteen eyeshadow shades total. Each of the four sides of the palette represents one of the four elements. Each of these elements has four corresponding shades. The textures and finishes on these are all different and I love the way the palette looks. It’s definitely got fantastic packaging and will catch your eye right off the bat.
Each element has a texture to it that represents it. It’s visually really unique and fascinating.
Earth has a gorgeous mix of nature tones to it, including two greens and two browns. The stand out shades for me are the sparkling emerald green and the metallic copper brown on the end. All of the shades were pigmented, though the two matte shades (the first and third in swatches) were a little less soft than the other two.
Air is a mix of light metallic shimmers coupled with a dark matte brown. The second shade (the matte taupe-grey) was the only one in this entire palette that didn’t apply well. It just didn’t show up. The shimmering pale blue and lilac purple are very reminiscent of “air” though, and are both gorgeous. The dark brown is pigmented and very matte, making it perfect for a crease shade.
Fire is probably my personal favorite just because I love fiery shades of eyeshadow. The metallic sparkling orange-copper shade is STUNNING and so pigmented. If you’ve got blue eyes, this is going to make your eyes POP!
Water is a group of gorgeous blue and teal shades. These are also incredibly beautiful. The turquoise shade on the end is particularly pigmented and sparkly. If you’re a blue eyeshadow lover, you’re going to love these.
Overall, there’s something for everyone in this palette. There are matte shades, metallic shades, and shimmer shades. There are neutrals and then there are bright shades, so you can create a natural looking eye or something far more dramatic. The packaging and textures of the eyeshadow are unique and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.
The Sephora + Pantone Universe Elemental Energy Eye Shadow Palette is limited edition for Fall 2013 and can be found at Sephora stores nationwide. Each palette retails for $38.00 USD. You can also browse and purchase this palette online by clicking the banner below:
