My Urban Decay Electric Palette has been sitting on my vanity whispering to me, “Use me.” I’ve been wanting to play around with it more since I got it, and then I also stumbled across this image of Scarlett Johansson and I thought it was perfect. Not only is Scarlett gorgeous, but her and I have a very similar eye color. The eye makeup is bold, daring, and bright, but there is also a fairy-tale softness to it. It catches your eye and then you can’t help but be transfixed by how shimmery and gorgeous it is. Full details inside!
THE MUSE: Scarlett Johansson at the 2010 Tony Awards. The eye makeup is bright and bold here. She wore a bright purple eyeshadow that becomes darker on the outer corners of her eyes. The crease is blended out with a bright fuchsia pink, and the inner corners of the eyes all the way to the middle of the eye has a sparkling metallic silver shade on it.
HOW TO ACHIEVE THE LOOK: I used my Urban Decay Electric Palette. It has the three shades you need to achieve this look and they are super saturated in color.
- Using an eyeshadow brush, apply the bright purple shade on the eyelid lightly. As you get toward the outer corners of the eyes, apply the shade heavier and darker. This will create a gradient smokey effect on the eyelid and along the lower lash-line.
- Apply the hot fuchsia pink shade to the crease of your eye lightly with a fluffy blending brush. This shade is VERY pigmented, so a little goes a long way. I also used my fluffy blending brush to blend out the lower lash-line with this shade a bit. The fuchsia pink and the bright purple go together beautifully and really fuse on the eyelid to create a duo-chrome effect.
- Pat the sparkling metallic silver shade into the inner corners of your eyes heavily. Scarlett has a lot of sparkle going on, so feel free to blend this slightly upward in the inner corners, as well. I also patted this shade lightly up to the halfway point on my eyelid.
To finish off the look, I applied black gel liner to my upper lash-line and added mascara. The look is complete!
THE FINISHED LOOK & COMPARISON PHOTOGRAPHS:
This look is bold, bright, and absolutely dripping in color. It’s the perfect eye makeup look for a palette like UD’s Electric. While Scarlett and I both have blue-green eyes and purple really brings them out, purple also looks stunning on brown-eyed beauties as well!
Happy Friday! Get out there and be BRIGHT this weekend!
