I am excited to team up with Rimmel London to take the Stay Matte Challenge! The Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation is ideal for those who want to keep a shine-free complexion all day long. I have very oily skin that only gets worse as the weather gets warmer. Since the weather is getting quite warm around here, especially this past week, I put it to the test on some long days to see how it would hold up.
The consistency of this product is amazing. It’s a lightweight whipped mousse texture, and you need about a dime-sized amount of product for your entire face. I was amazed at how little product I needed for very good coverage, especially compared to a lot of my other foundations. I know that this foundation will last me quite awhile. I like to apply this foundation with a flat top brush and use stippling motions on my face. The coverage is medium, and can be built up to very full coverage. I like that this foundation is so lightweight and non-cakey feeling but still covers my imperfections really well. My shade is “200 – Soft Beige.” It blended perfectly into my skin, but the real test is whether or not the product stood up to my oily skin!
After a very long day last week, my skin looked exactly how I wanted it to look: highlighted only in the parts of my face that I applied shimmery highlighter. I applied my makeup early in the morning, went on a road trip, took in dinner and shopping downtown, as well as a basketball game. By the time I was on my way home, it was late and I wanted to see how my foundation was holding up. To my delight, the only parts of my face that looked dewy were the parts that I had actually applied highlighter to (down my nose and above my cheekbones). The rest of my face maintained a matte texture, and this was well past the twelve-hour mark of wearing the foundation. Normally at this point, my face would look extremely oily on my nose, chin, forehead, and cheeks. Rimmel’s Stay Matte Foundation passed the longevity test!
My final test with this foundation came yesterday, when I wanted to see how it looked during a really bright sunny day. I was curious to see if it looked natural on my skin. I took the above photograph of myself in all natural lighting during the day. I was really happy with the way this product photographed. Taking pictures of my makeup is a really important part of my job, and when the foundation becomes part of the skin and looks natural, it photographs well. Rimmel’s Stay Matte Foundation made my skin look flawless both on camera and in natural light.
