I’ve been anxiously awaiting for the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers to arrive here in the United States, as I’ve seen them on many UK beauty blogs for months now. They are the perfect drugstore lip lacquers that apply like a lip gloss but have super rich lipstick-like color payoff. The product reminds me a lot of the ever popular OCC Lip Tars, only with an applicator wand and a much lower price tag. If you’re looking for rich, saturated lip color with a budget friendly price tag, these are your kryptonite!
I purchased Luna to get an idea of the formula and finish these left. I will have more to review for you as soon as my business mail arrives in the coming days, but I did want to purchase one shade on my own just out of sheer curiosity. Luna is a peachy-nude shade with a satin finish. The effect this gives off is not glossy, but it’s not completely matte either. It comes with a typical gloss-like applicator wand which distributes the lacquer well. These are highly pigmented. One swipe of the applicator across my hand put down very rich color:
Speaking of which, I’m in love with Luna. It’s really a lovely peachy-nude shade that is flattering on a lot of skin tones. It’s also completely non-sticky and doesn’t smell synthetic at all. It was really delightful to apply and wear this shade on my lips.
I like that these are so pigmented. You’re getting excellent color payoff for the price. If you’re looking for highly pigmented lip color that leaves a lipstick-like finish, you must try these. I wanted every single shade from the collection, personally!
Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers are available at drugstores nationwide. Each lip lacquer retails for $4.99 USD. There are several different shades available as I saw from the display, from nudes to pinks to reds. These are definitely worth trying if you’re looking for budget-friendly lip color that puts down rich, saturated pigment. I have more shades from the collection coming for you, so keep your eyes peeled for more swatches in the next few days!
