Using a makeup setting spray can be extremely beneficial to a variety of skin types. It can help makeup from flaking and blotching on dry skin, from sliding off and changing tone on oily skin, and from caking on normal skin. It is a great way to finish and set your makeup, ensuring long lasting wear. With more cosmetic companies creating makeup setting sprays, how do you know which one to choose? Even further, choosing a makeup setting spray that won’t clog your pores or feel like hairspray for your face can be difficult. Does Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray live up to expectations?
Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray is a groundbreaking formula that you spray on to your makeup so that it will not budge. Color dispersing agents keep makeup evenly distributed so it looks fresh, and newly applied for sixteen hours. This formula also makes makeup moisture-resistant, and has a cooling technology to make your makeup and skin feel refreshed.
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray really piqued my interest because not only do I love makeup setting sprays, I need a makeup setting spray. My skin is very oily, particularly in the spring and summer when the weather starts heating up. My makeup will often slide down my face within a matter of a few hours, and it is not a pretty sight. Oily skin can cause your foundation, bronzer, and blush to turn darker than you desire, and streaks in your makeup can look unsightly, to say the least. The great appeal to the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray is that it will work for every skin type, and it is extremely long lasting.
I have been an avid fan of MAC’s Fix+ for years now, always using it to set my makeup, and make it more luminous and natural looking. It was not until this fantastic product came along that I stopped reaching for my Fix+, and started reaching for my All Nighter. Let me back up a few steps for those beauties who are not sure what a makeup setting spray is, and how it is used. A makeup setting spray basically refreshes and hydrates your face, while keeping your makeup locked into place for a set amount of time. The application is extremely simple: spray the bottle onto your face 3-4 times approximately 8-10 inches from your face. Allow to dry just about thirty to sixty seconds, and that’s it!
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray really does have a refreshing, cooling feeling to it, which I love. It makes your skin feel like you’ve just stepped out of a cool shower after a workout, and it does so without any burning or irritation. I also like that this product has a very light scent – it is practically scentless, with just a barely-there “clean” scent to it. This is a huge plus in my book because I have used makeup setting sprays that smell strong of chemicals, or fragrance.
Another thing I love about this spray is how it feels on your skin as you are spraying it, and once it dries. It feels extremely lightweight and fine, almost lighter than applying a spray bottle of water to your skin. It dries quickly, and it is completely non-sticky. A makeup setting spray should feel lightweight and non-sticky, not only for comfort reasons, but because a makeup setting spray can very easily clog your pores and create breakouts and acne. I used Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray for over two weeks, and I have had no breakouts or irritation to my skin. If anything, not only does my makeup look better every day, but my skin also looks better. This product is oil and paraben free, which is something I truly have an appreciation for, having oily skin, and being prone to products breaking me out.
As for the sixteen hour claim this product makes? Right on target. I applied this early in the morning, and by the time I practically sleep walked into my bathroom to take my makeup over sixteen hours later, my makeup was streak-free, the same shade, and vibrant. To remove this product, you simply wash your face as you normally would. This product can also be carried easily in your purse, your gym bag, or for traveling. It is great for using if your face just feels hot and sweaty, and you need a refresher.
The only perceived downside to this product is the price. At $29 for a 4.0 fl oz spray bottle, I feel the price tag is a bit steep and may turn some people away from using this fabulous, effective product. My MAC Fix+ is $18 per bottle, for 3.4 fl oz, and can last me anywhere from three months and onward. Therefore, this product will last you some time, at 2-4 spritzes per application. I do wish this product was more in the range of $20, though, and not $30. In my opinion, that would make the price tag a bit more palatable.
Bottom line: If a makeup setting spray is a priority to you, or you’re looking to splurge on a product that will keep your makeup looking refreshed, healthy, glowing, and in place all day long and then some, Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray is your weapon of choice.
