While Physician’s Formula Mineral Correcting Powder may look more like a rainbow of cotton candy colors, this product claims to even out and perfect your complexion with a few swipes. This powder comes in two shades, “Creamy Natural,” and “Translucent,” even though both compacts look exactly the same with their colors. I chose to go with Translucent since I wanted to be able to test this product on a variety of different skin tones. Does Physician’s Formula Mineral Correcting Powder even out and perfect skin tone, or does it just look pretty?
Physician’s Formula Mineral Correcting Powder
Physician’s Formula Mineral Correcting Powder claims to correct common skin imperfections, smooth skin texture, and even out your skin tone. The versatile swirl of powder colors blend to create a perfect canvas finish: pink brightens, green tones down redness, and yellow adds warmth. This formula claims to have a natural looking finish that won’t settle into fine lines or cake. As always, Physician’s Formula boasts no fragrance or parabens, and is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic.
This product has been getting a lot of media attention in fashion and beauty magazines, as well as with celebrities, especially due to the fact that it has the most eye-catching swirl of cotton candy colors, with a brush to match. While the packaging definitely looks extremely chic and pretty, the cotton candy colors are designed to each address a different skin concern. The pink tone brightens dull, lifeless skin, the green tone evens out redness, and the yellow tone warms up the complexion. Redness is often a concern for women, particularly because hormones can contribute to redness around our nose, forehead, and cheeks. Many of us often deal with dull, tired looking skin due to busy lifestyles, in which the pink can help to brighten.
While the brush that comes with this product is certainly extremely pretty with its bright colors, I personally would only use it in a pinch, because it fits into the bottom of the compact. I would personally use a fluffy powder brush to apply this powder to your face, as it allows a cleaner, more flawless finish. The great thing about this mineral correcting powder is that you can choose where you want to apply it. If you only need to address certain “problem areas,” simply swipe the powder there. If you’re looking to even out your entire face and neck, you can sweep this lightly over the entire area. This powder can also be worn alone, or over your makeup (such as foundation), which makes it versatile. I have used this powder alone, as an alternative to foundation and concealer, just to give my face a more natural appearance, while still completely correcting my skin imperfections. Naturally, if you have blemishes, blotchiness, or spots you want to cover up, you are better off applying this over foundation and/or concealer. However, if your skin is particularly clear, or you just have concerns over uneven skin tone, then you can apply this alone, add a little blush or bronzer, and go!
Physician’s Formula Mineral Correcting Powder comes in two shades: Creamy Natural and Translucent. I have not tried the Creamy Natural, however, I would highly recommend the Translucent shade, as it blends flawlessly into the skin without packing on any color.
While the powder appears to have color to it on your brush, it disappears on your skin without making you looking pasty or more pale.
Bottom line: If you have concerns over skin dullness and tone imperfections, and want a quick, easy way to brighten, warm, and even out your skin tone, Physician’s Formula Mineral Correcting Powder will give you an even, flawless, airbrushed finish.

Bought this yesterday and LOVE it. I have trouble with traditional primers – my sensitive skin always breaks out – so the powder primer was a welcome change. That plus the correction factor make this a must buy! Thanks for the lead!!
