Quick Review: Maybelline EyeStudio ColorPearls Marbleized Eyeshadow

I have been curious about the Maybelline Marbleized Eyeshadows since they were released with the rest of the EyeStudio line. The Maybelline EyeStudio quad’s are among my favorite drugstore eyeshadows, for their soft, plush feel, and their amazing color payoff. Not entirely sold on what these marbleized eyeshadows would be great for, I held off on purchasing one. The one shown above, “Ivy Icon,” is a gorgeous pearlescent ivy green. Now that I have swatched this eyeshadow, and played with different looks, I am very pleased with my purchase, and would definitely go back for more. To see more photographs,

Maybelline EyeStudio ColorPearls Marbleized Eyeshadow in “Ivy Icon,” is a baked, dual-sided eyeshadow with pearlized pigments. The left side is pure color, and the right side is the marbleized swirl of pigment for a unique shade that goes along with the left. Ivy Icon is a gorgeous shade of green, looking luminous and soft, yet packing a punch of beautiful green color.

Wondering how you can use these eyeshadows for a look? Here are two fantastic ideas:

Soft and flirty: Blend the two shades together, sweeping your brush over the entire pan. Apply this to your entire eyelid, up to your crease. Then, add the marbleized shade to the center of your lid for a shimmering punch of color. The result is natural, flirty, and demure.

Fun and glamorous: Sweep the marbleized shade up to your brown bone, and blend well. Add the solid shade into your crease, and on the outer third of your eye for definition. Use a liner brush to apply the solid shade across your upper lash line (or even your lower lash line!).

What I love most about these eyeshadows is that you are essentially paying for two different eyeshadow shades. The marbleized side gives you a lighter, more shimmery finish, whereas the solid color is good for adding drama.

Maybelline EyeStudio ColorPearls Marbleized Eyeshadow’s come in ten different shades: Carbon Frost, Silver Starlet, Bronze Blowout, Mocha Mirage, Sinful Sinnamon, Lawless Lavender, Navy Narcissist, Tantalizing Teal, Khaki Craze, and Ivy Icon. All ten shades have a solid pigment, and a marbleized pigment on the other side that complements the solid shade.

This eyeshadow is available at your local drugstore, and mass retailers such as Walmart, Target, and Ulta. You can also browse and purchase this product online by clicking the photograph and link below:

I was looking at these shadows in the store and wondering about them. Thanks for doing the review! You have talked me into buying. :D

See, I bought one (Mocha Mirage) and didn’t really feel like the color payoff was that great. When I apply it wet, however, it looked a lot better. Not as great as some other brands I think.
