Everyone is always talking about how pigmented and gorgeous Illamasqua Powder Blushers are, but at $24 each, I knew I only wanted to pick up one to start with. After looking at several beauty blogs with swatches of the blushes available at Sephora, I knew I had to go with Hussy. It’s this enticingly bright watermelon pink that just screams spring and summer to me. Not only does it look beautiful, but this is a shade that will look great on pretty much any skin tone because it doesn’t pull too warm or too cool. Couple that with the fact that you can literally run one finger lightly over this blush to put down massively rich color, and I’m pretty sure it’s love. To see photographs and swatches,
If you are a first-timer to Illamasqua, let me be the first to tell you that this brand from the UK is absolutely amazing. All of their products are insanely bold, daring, and color rich. If I am going to pay for a higher-end product, I want really good pigmentation, and Illamasqua never disappoints.
It’s really nice to find a blush that actually falls under the “bright watermelon” description. A lot of blushes tend to lean too peachy, too pink, or too much into the “rose” territory. This is just a really bright, feminine, playful watermelon pink.
It’s always nice to see a blush swatched on the actual cheeks as well, so I included a few photographs of me wearing “Hussy” this past week so you can see how it looks against different makeup and my skin tone. It gives me a really nice flushed look, and I sometimes apply it lighter or heavier-handed depending on the look I am going for.
Overall: While this blush is an investment piece at $24, the color is so pigmented and rich that you only need a small swipe to put down great color. Basically, this blush is going to last you a long time. The bright watermelon color is universally gorgeous on all skin tones.
