I remember the first time I laid eyes on an OPI DS Nail Lacquer. The “DS” stands for Designer Series, and these polishes are special editions that have stunning nuances to them. I wanted every single OPI DS polish when I was in Ulta at one time, and I slowly added to my collection. Two new additions to the collection are DS Pewter and DS Lapis. These are two perfect shades for fall with their rich base color and their luxe sparkle. These are meant to be worn matte and they give off that beautiful sparkling, glittery matte look when worn without a top coat, however, I DID pair these both with a topcoat because I loved the way they looked with shine.

These are meant to be worn matte. They give off that sparkling matte finish, and they’re really beautiful while matte. I actually ended up adding a top coat for my swatches because I loved the way these looked when they had shine, so use your imagination about how they would look if they were matte, without a top coat used.

 

 

 

 

 

DS Pewter is a multi-sized silver glitter suspended in a dark grey base that almost looks black. The glitter actually glows a pewter color in the light which is really unique and cool. You can see the effect in the first swatch of this polish. This is a great edgy color for fall and winter, and will especially look great around the holiday’s coming up like Halloween!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DS Lapis is STUNNING! It is a bright blue glitter suspended in a dark, rich navy base. This polish has my heart. It’s so perfect for the fall. I love wearing dark jewel tones for the colder months and this one will be no exception.

 

 

 

Both of these polishes were extremely pigmented and only needed two coats of polish. You could probably get away with just one coat, but I went back for another to be sure. Again, these are meant to be worn matte without a topcoat, but I just couldn’t resist turning these shiny because they’re so glamorous.
