The Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez Collection contains fourteen nail polishes in total, so I needed to break up the posts into two parts. This part contains most of the glitters, since sparkle takes up half of this collection!
“Selena is an ideal partner for Nicole by OPI. Millions of fans love her for the same reasons we do; she’s smart, talented, funny – and has an incredible sense of style,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “She has that classic ‘girl-next-door’ appeal, but she’s also edgy and fun – just like the Nicole consumer.
I think this collection is perfect for those of you that love glitter and more playful shades of nail polish. It definitely has a very youthful vibe to it overall, and I’m happy to bring you swatches of the first half of the collection inside,
Selena is a peach pink with very fine, subtle shimmer in it. I actually didn’t notice the extremely fine shimmer in it until I swatched it on my nails, but it just adds to the overall elegance of this polish. It was perfectly opaque in just two coats and is an absolutely gorgeous, classic, understated color. I love shades like this for when I’m feeling like I want to go with a very soft, feminine color on my nails.
Stars at Night is full of silver holographic confetti-glitter. I really like confetti glitter polishes because they add something different than the usual round glitter you see everywhere. Plus, confetti glitter is perfect for doing a glitter accent nail or a glitter ombre effect on your nails. This one had a good formula on it…it isn’t an opaque polish, but the clear coat that the glitter is suspended in is just right, so the glitter comes out easily.
Inner Sparkle is a light pink and pastel purple glitter with smaller bits of metallic glitter in it. This one gave me some problems and didn’t want to come out onto my nails. My swatch is three or four coats, and as you can see, the glitter came out onto my nail, just not necessarily a lot of it, considering how many coats I applied.
Confetti Fun is a multi-colored glitter that contains red, pink, blue, yellow, green, and silver sparkles. This is just an overall fun glitter polish to have in your collection because it always reminds me of a big party! This one had a great formula to it, and the glitter came out evenly. I might end up wearing this one for New Year’s Eve because I just think it’s absolutely gorgeous when placed over a base color.
Kissed at Midnight is a gold glitter that also contains chunks of silver glitter in it. This one came out of the bottle wonderfully, and the swatch below is just two coats. This is another great polish for layering or for using to create a glitter accent nail.
Mi Fantasia is a blue and violet confetti glitter polish. This one is complex up close and in person because it glows aqua and violet, but also has the holographic shine to it. My swatch is three coats of polish, and it is almost opaque on the nail.
Overall: The first half of this collection is mainly all glitter topcoats. If you’re a lover of glitter polish, or are simply looking for some glitter polish to add to your collection, definitely give this group of polishes a look. The lone creme in this group of swatches, “Selena,” is a gorgeous, classic, feminine peach shade. Part 2 of this collection will contain mostly all non-glitter polishes, so stay tuned!
