The NARS Christopher Kane Collection is limited edition and has been highly coveted by many. I posted the full press release here with all of the products and shades. This is the Outer Limits Shimmer Eyeshadow, and happened to be one of the favorites in the collection because it’s so unique. The eyeshadow has an intense metallic shimmer to it that reflects a multitude of different colors. It can be worn alone or over another base shade for a customized look. I’ve got full swatches, my thoughts, and a makeup look using this stunning product inside!
Do you happen to remember the TV show The Outer Limits? I used to watch the 90’s version of this show all the time as a kid with my dad. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the name of this eyeshadow. It fits perfectly because the show was science-fiction, and this shade is very extraterrestrial.
Outer Limits is an iridescent rose gold shimmer eyeshadow. It is not your average shimmer eyeshadow, though. It has an insanely gorgeous duo-chrome effect to it, where it looks rose gold then just gold and then lights up with hot rose-pink sparkles. When it catches the light, it absolutely stunning. It is truly unlike any other eyeshadow that I have in my collection.
I made sure that the swatch was extra large so you could see all of the fantastic detail in this shade. It’s gold, it’s rose-gold, it’s shimmery, it has hot pink flecks in it, and it looks brilliant applied both dry and wet.
MY MAKEUP LOOK USING OUTER LIMITS: For this look, I let Outer Limits be the star of the show. I used my Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette to deepen my crease and my lower lash-line up with a medium matte brown shade. I applied Outer Limits to my entire eyelid and into the inner corners of my eyes. I applied a flesh-colored liner onto my lower water-line. I applied black winged eyeliner, curled my lashes, and applied mascara.
You can see that depending on the lighting and angle, Outer Limits can look quite different. It’s such a unique and gorgeous eyeshadow and I love when the light hits it just right so that it sparkles.
I kept the face simple because the eyes are so shimmery. I used NARS Lip Gloss in Nucleus, which is also from the NARS Christopher Kane Collection. It’s a shiny nude shade that keeps my lips muted. For foundation, I used my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Rapid Spot Corrector and blended it out. I contoured my cheekbones and nose with my Kat Von D Shade + Light Palette as I always do, and highlighted using BECCA’s Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal. I used L’oreal True Match Blush in “Barely Blushing” for a super neutral cheek shade. For my eyebrows, I used Anastasia Dip Brow in Blonde.
The NARS Christopher Kane Collection is limited edition for Summer 2015 and can be purchased at NARS’ website and at NARS boutiques nationwide. Outer Limits is currently out of stock online, but it may come back in stock, so keep checking here. You can also visit a department store that sells NARS and see if they have this collection out. Each eyeshadow retails for $25.00USD.
I have a couple of other items that were sent to me from the NARS Christopher Kane Collection to swatch and share with you, so stay tuned!

IT’S FABULOUS!
Bravo Christostopher!!!!!! I was mesmerized you are such a visionary with colors too many artists don’t ever go out and take a risk. But you have a gift and as soon as I could, I have to get that color for me unless they end up sold out.
