I’ve had these lipsticks waiting to be swatched now for a few weeks, and I feel like a bad blogger because I’m not getting to them until now! I also have the final part to this entire lipstick collection, which is the plums and berries, and I will get the swatches up as soon as I can. Today, I’ve got all of the Milani Color Statement Lipsticks in Naturals & Browns. I’m a neutral lipstick lover, so I was very excited for this collection. This is a very pic heavy post, but I have managed to get through them all inside,
There are nine lipsticks in the naturals & browns collection, as well as two lip-liners. Let’s get straight into the swatches!
Nude Creme is a light pink cream lipstick. This is actually my “go-to” lipstick shade pretty much on a daily basis, and this one is beautiful. It applied smoothly and felt hydrating on my lips.
Dulce Caramelo is a pearl brown-pink shade. It has a slight reflect to it that makes it have a micro-shimmer. It’s another very pretty nude pink shade, though this one leans a little bit more on the mauve-brown side than “Nude Creme.”
Naturally Chic is a gorgeous rosy cream shade. I actually wouldn’t think to put this into the “Naturals & Browns” category since it’s kind of a rosy brown shade, but it is beautiful nonetheless.
Teddy Bare is a medium-toned brown nude cream. Love, love, love. I adore the name and think it is adorable, and I also love this shade because it’s very 1960’s. Think: Lana Del Rey’s classic makeup look of winged eyeliner, cut-crease eyeshadow, and this lip color.
D’Oro is a metallic bronze-gold shade. While it wasn’t gritty at all, I did find it to be a little patchy on my lips. This is also just not my shade in terms of flattering colors against my skin tone. Put this on someone with darker skin, and I think it would look fabulous.
Bronze Beauty is a shimmer formula, and is a really pigmented bronze-copper. I absolutely love this one because it was so pigmented and smooth, and it looks so cool on the lips. Unfortunately, I just don’t think I could pull this color off alone. I will probably use this to layer over another color for some added shimmer. This is, yet again, another shade that is perfect for dark skin.
Candied Toffees is a metallic caramel color. Again, a beautiful shade of lipstick that puts down great color, but not flattering against my skin tone, so don’t let that deter you. I think this would be fantastic on medium to dark skin tones.
Chocolate Berries is a dark brown-burgundy cream. I adore this shade, I really do. It went on so super smooth and it wasn’t patchy or dry like a lot of dark lipsticks are. This is a shade I can get down with, and I will be rockin’ this shade for Fall and Winter 2013. It’s honestly a universally flattering shade, because not only did I try this on, but so did my younger teenage sister who is a medium-dark skin tone, and her friend, who has a very light skin tone. It looked great on all three of us!
Double Espresso is a dark chocolate brown pearl shade. Another shade that I can genuinely say looks gorgeous when swatched, but is just not for me and my skin tone. I love the reflects of gold that come through in this lipstick. Another fantastic option for darker skinned babes!
The two liners in this collection are 09 – Spice and 10 – Cocoa.
The top swatch is 10 – Cocoa and the bottom swatch is 09 – Spice. Both lip-liners performed incredibly well and were super soft and easy to apply.
Overall: I like that this collection of lipsticks contains something for all skin tones. That is pretty much the main point I want to make here with these particular lipsticks. I cannot tell you how many times I hear a woman with medium-dark or dark skin in the drugstore complaining about not being able to find colors suitable for her. There is an array of natural and brown shades in this collection that will please everyone, and I applaud Milani Cosmetics for expanding their collection to include those with darker skin tones! The formula on these are perfect. Smooth, hydrating, and containing a light, sweet scent, you’ll fall in love with the pigmentation, as well.
The Milani Cosmetics Color Statement Lipsticks in Naturals & Browns can be found at drugstores and mass retailers nationwide where Milani Cosmetics is sold. Each lipstick retails for $5.49 USD. You can browse their entire Color Statement Lipstick range online at the Milani Cosmetics website. I’ve already swatched their Pinks & Corals and their Reds & Oranges (click on the links to view them). Last, but certainly not least, I have the “Plums & Berries” swatches coming up for you next!

Those dark brown shades remind me of the 90’s ‘Raisin Lip’ that everyone had including me!
