It just occurred to me over the weekend that I never swatched the Plums & Berries from the Milani Color Statement Lipstick collection! I’ve swatched every single other group of lipsticks in the entire Milani line, and these have been sitting near my makeup vanity for way too long. Since it’s almost autumn, it’s actually kind of perfect because purple lipstick is incredibly trendy and in right now. It’s also incredibly flattering on absolutely anyone, and if you’re afraid to wear purple lipstick, I’ve got some fantastic options inside for everyone. Take a look!

07 – Brandy and 08 – Fuchsia are the two lip liners in this color range. Both are gorgeously smooth and pigmented. I really like Milani’s lip liners because they apply really easily and they are always very creamy. Why spend a ton of money on expensive lip liner when you can use Milani?
Black Cherry is a gorgeous darkened wine color. Think merlot. It’s so full of pigment and it’s a very apropos color for the fall and winter. I love this shade because it’s part gothic and vampy, and yet it’s sexy and sophisticated.
Chilled Brandy is a frosty copper-brown. This shade was a little bit drying because of the frostiness and shimmer it has in it. I think this is a particularly great color for those with medium to dark skin tones.
Sangria is a berry-purplish pink. I love how it sits somewhere in between berry and pink. This is going to be a universally flattering purple lipstick shade for any complexion.
Plumrose is my unexpected favorite of the bunch. It has a warm rosy tone to it that also looks a bit berry-like. It’s super flattering for daytime and nighttime wear and it is, again, a color that will look good on anyone. I’ve been wearing this one non-stop because it’s so pretty.
Uptown Mauve is similar to Sangria, only brighter and lighter in color. It’s a purple-berry shade that has a brightness to it. I love it. It packs a bright burst of color and it’s gorgeous.
Raspberry Rush is a frosted, shimmering raspberry shade with a hot pink duo-chrome flash to it. This one was slightly drying and not as pigmented as the rest, but that flash of hot pink color when it hits the light is worth it.
Violet Volt is true violet purple shade with a flash of hot purple shimmer in it. I love the duo-chrome effect this one has as well, and it’s really edgy and unique looking. Very pretty.
I love Plumrose so much, I wanted to swatch it with Milani’s “Fuchsia” Lip Liner for you. This has been my go-to combination lately:
How pretty is Plumrose?
Above are all the shades, swatched from left to right in order of the swatches in this post. You can see the little and big differences in the shades when they’re next to each other. Overall, every shade in this collection was really nice. The shades with shimmer in them were slightly less pigmented than the others. Milani has a REALLY solid line of lipsticks that you can find at the drugstore for an inexpensive price tag, and they’re still my go-to lipsticks!
Milani Color Statement Lipsticks are available at mass retailers and drugstores nationwide. Find a location near you. Each lipstick retails for $5.49 USD each, making these a major beauty bargain. They have an expansive collection of shades as well, so there’s something for everyone.
