I purchased two products from the brand new Maybelline Porcelain Collection, a gorgeous neutral lipstick “Afternoon Tea,” and this eyeshadow palette, Prima Pink. This quad has four complementary shades that fall in the pink-purple family. I was initially attracted to this palette because the purple shade (labeled “crease”) has a stunning duo-chrome effect to it that glows slightly blue. I figured this was the perfect palette for someone who might want to do a purple smokey eye, or want to play around with color without going full-on bold. To see my swatches as well as the look I did using this eyeshadow palette,
Look at how that purple shade lights up when any kind of light hits it. I adore that color and for me, it was worth it, even if just for this color. I love the flash of bright blue it gives off! The only shade that I felt performed poorly was the light pink shade (upper right). While the shade is supposed to be light, it was what I would describe as not-very-pigmented at all, so I used it as my brow-bone shade, which it is perfect for!
The Look:
I used the lilac-pink shade over my entire eyelid and the inner corners of my eyes. Then, I applied the duo-chrome purple to the entire bottom lash line and into my crease. Lastly, I applied the mauve-purple shade onto the outer third of my eye to create a smokey effect. A bit of eyeliner and mascara and the look is complete! This is an especially gorgeous shade combination for ladies with brown eyes and green eyes because it will make them pop even more.
