Last year, everyone went wild over a new product by Revlon, their “Lip Butter” collection. This year, we see Maybelline’s response with Color Whisper Lipstick, and trust me, it was worth waiting for! I finally spotted the display at my local Target, and half of the lipsticks were already gone, so I had a limited choice. I know I’m going to end up collecting these over time as they become more readily available because I am in love with the formula. Inside, I’ve got swatches of Lust for Blush and Plum Prospect.
The packaging on these is absolutely fantastic. Even my husband commented on “how cool” the outside looked. They definitely look fresh and modern, and different than what we are used to seeing at the drugstore. The packaging is also thinner than your average lipstick bullet, so it will take up less space.
Lust for Blush is your typical nude-pink shade. Everyone should have a nude-pink lipstick in their collection because it looks good on absolutely anyone, and it goes with everything. The formula on these is incredible…so insanely moisturizing and soft on your lips.
I actually like the formula on these better than the Revlon Lip Butter’s! I found these to be much more soft and hydrating on the lips, while imparting a gorgeous shine.
A Plum Prospect is a gorgeous violet plum shade with a very fine shimmer in it. Purple lip shades are very trendy right now, and this is the perfect way to pull off a plum lip without it being “in-your-face” purple. The slight sheerness of it makes it very wearable and lovely.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love these. They feel so smooth and velvety-soft when they are applied, and they still put down great color.
Overall: Where can I find more of these? I will be slowly collecting all of the shades from the Color Whisper Lipstick Collection. I adore the formula, the finish, and the vast shade range means there is something for everyone.
