What a crazy, crazy ride it was waiting for this collection to show up on the MAC website last week! It didn’t end up being released until around 5:30pm EST, and a lot of fans were going absolutely rabid at the idea of not being able to purchase something before it sold out. I really only had my eye on one thing from the collection which is the Betty Bright Lipstick. It is absolutely perfect for spring and summer, and it is one of those shades that lights up the entire face, even if you’re not wearing much other makeup. Also, who can resist such cute, retro-inspired packaging?
The collection was split into parts, with two of them being “Betty” and “Veronica.” The Betty (blonde) Collection is more feminine and youthful in shade collection while the Veronica (brunette) Collection has some darker, more sophisticated shades. The packaging is just darling and worth it alone, especially since I love classic comic book series.
Betty Bright is one of the three lipsticks from the Betty Collection. It is described by MAC as a “light vibrant peach,” and it is a satin finish. I knew from the start that this lipstick was going to be a huge hit in the collection. Colors like these are universally flattering whether you’re extremely pale or have very dark skin. This is one of those shades that lights up the entire complexion making you look more awake, glowing, and even giving your skin a hint of tan if you’re on the pale side. I’ve been wearing this color out when I just want to wear mascara and some blush and nothing else. It helps my eyes and face look much more awake and youthful without wearing much makeup. It also makes my face look tanner than it actually is!
The shade is gor-geous. It is a vibrant lightened peachy-pink shade. It almost looks more pink than peach in some of these swatches, but it has that ability to sit perfectly in between pink and coral.
It’s an absolutely stunning shade of lipstick that is really girly and can be worn for the office or for a night out. I’m personally glad I snagged one of these because between the packaging and the color, I knew this wouldn’t last long in the limited edition collection!
