I absolutely love when I get to review a product that I enjoy using and then I get to offer you all a chance to sample it! I also have the Triple Resist Ultimate Strength Solution Treatment for review today, as well. My hair is incredibly long, and it takes a lot more upkeep. If I don’t regularly keep my hair hydrated, it will knot and tangle so bad that I actually will have to cut the knots out of my hair. It’s imperative that I take good care of my hair, and these three products help tremendously.

Hair is the ultimate secret weapon. When you walk out of the salon with a fresh style, you have an extra bounce in your step. When your hair looks good, you carry yourself with more confidence. In order to maintain my very long hair, there are some routines I have down that help keep my hair healthy, long, and strong.
MY HEALTHY LONG & STRONG HAIR TIPS:
- Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. This seems like a no-brainer, but sometimes our shampoo and conditioner are meant to do other things (like volumize) and can actually end up drying our hair out. Use products that feel really good on your skin, in your hands, and on your hair. If your hair feels softer and stronger after you step out of the shower, you’ve found a good product.
- Deep condition your hair. You can use a leave-in treatment or make an at-home treatment. I love to use organic coconut oil on the ends of my hair because it really penetrates the hair shaft and helps with my split ends. The ends of your hair are the most brittle and dry, so take extra caution to moisturize them!
- Use a comb, not a brush on wet hair. Your hair is extra brittle and prone to breakage when your hair is wet so make sure you use a comb and apply gentle pressure when your strands are wet. You can end up doing some serious damage to your hair by using a brush on wet strands!
- Be healthy from the inside out. Eat whole foods, vegetables, fruits, drink a lot of water, and consume a daily multi-vitamin. These will ensure that you are growing strong hair from the inside out.
- Give yourself a scalp massage. Not only does it feel good to give yourself a scalp massage, but it boosts circulation and blood flow to the scalp, which in turn may help your hair grow. Use your finger tips and gently massage your entire scalp with your favorite shampoo or product.
- Cut back on heat. I know it’s not always possible to cut back on heat styling, but if you have some days of the week where you can air-dry your hair, go for it. Every little bit helps. I try to give my hair a break for half of the week, always letting it air-dry without using any blow-dryer, straighteners, or curling irons.
- Keep split ends trimmed. I don’t like the dreaded scissors very much, but I actually trim my own hair. By keeping the split ends trimmed, you are chopping them off before they end up breaking higher up on your head. The higher the end breaks, the shorter your strand(s) will be. I’ve learned this the hard way, trust me!
Those are my fool-proof tips on how to keep your hair healthy and strong. My hair is dry and color-treated, especially at the ends where my ombre is. It needs all the moisture and help it can get, so I use L’oreal Paris Triple Resist Shampoo & Conditioner.
The products have a concentrated formula of Arginine in them to reinforce your strands and help hair resist breakage. If you’ve got hair loss, breakage, or dry hair, this an awesome option for you. The smell of the shampoo and conditioner is fantastic and I really like it. The shampoo lathers beautifully on your head, which is important to me in a shampoo. I tend to have an oily scalp fairly quickly, so I give myself a scalp massage with this shampoo. The conditioner feels silky smooth and when I rinse it out of my hair, my hair feels really soft and healthy.
When I step out of the shower, I use this leave-in treatment from the Triple Resist line. You apply this mostly to your roots, which is actually different from most leave-in treatments. Most of them tell you to apply to your ends, but applying the product to your roots is really key. Your hair is dead other than at your roots, so you can moisture your ends as much as possible, but true healthier hair comes from the root. I love that this treats the scalp and root of the hair, which reinforces healthy hair to start and keep growing. The treatment spray is really lightweight and the spray nozzle helps a nice fine mist come out. It smells great like the shampoo and conditioner, as well.
My hair has definitely felt healthier since using this trio of products, and I don’t notice as many tangles, which helps keep my hair where I want it…on my head! The best part is that these are available at the drugstore without an expensive price tag.
