While perusing my local Walgreens (okay, I’m lying, I was on the hunt for the new Wet n Wild Collection), I came across new Wet n Wild Fast Dry Nail Color polishes. First, I squealed because I finally found the new display with all the new products, (especially the eyeshadow trio’s, which are to come!). Then, I realized how many of these nail polish shades I completely fell in love with. Since Wet n Wild keeps their prices so low, I was able to pick up a ton of products from the new collection without breaking the bank. And, here’s the extra fun part about these new nail polishes: they are all named after 90’s TV shows. Seriously! They are adorable, and I found myself checking all the polish names for giggles (my husband was not as amused as I was). To see photographs and swatches of the four shades I picked up,
Buffy the Violet Slayer: This shade is a very vivid, bright, shocking purple shade, with hints of bright cobalt blue in it. This color is actually an exact dupe for Sinful Colors Lang Lang, which I am in love with. Dare I say that I liked the Wet n Wild version better? I thought it applied smoother, was more rich and opaque in color, and overall looked better. Just like “Lang Lang,” this shade looks blue when you use the flash, and purple in regular light. What else can I say? Stunning!
Party of Five Glitters: This nail polish is clear with chunks of multi-colored glitter in it. I am trying to decide if this shade actually has five different colors of glitter in it exactly. What I can tell is that it has fuchsia, green, silver, gold, and blue. This is another shade that is somewhat similar to Milani “Gems,” but yet it looks different. The clear base in this was a little runny for my liking, and it was harder to pat the chunks of glitter on than the Milani polish was. I’d be more likely to use this as a fun topcoat to another shade. Party of Five Glitters still has a very fun, party-like look to it! And, psst…I loved Party of Five back in the day!
SaGreena the Teenage Witch: This shade is your vibrant emerald green that simply glows from within. It looks dark around the edges, and then when it hits the light right, you are reminded of the Emerald City from Wizard of Oz.
9.0.2.1.Orange: You know I saved the best for last! This shimmering tangerine orange shade completely surprised me. It looked gorgeous in the bottle, which is why I grabbed it (there was also only 1 left!). But when I applied this, holy sexiness! It gives off the most delectably beautiful color and sheen. It reminds me of summer, and bright, fresh oranges in a fruit bowl. Mmm…
The formula on these polishes was fantastic. The only one I had slight problems with was “Party of Five Glitters,” with its slightly runny clear base. These polishes do indeed dry quickly, and I noticed my nails were completely dry without being the slightest bit tacky within fifteen minutes. I fully intend to go back for the other shades I was eyeing up in the display!
Bottom Line: If you come across the new Wet n Wild Collection, give it a good look! Their new eyeshadow trio’s are absolutely gorgeous, and I grabbed every one they had in stock (they were missing 3), which will be featured here on Beauty Gala. The formula is smooth, opaque, and fast drying. The shades are the icing on top of the cake, though!
Wet n Wild Fast Dry Nail Color retails for $1.99 in Walgreens and Walmart stores nationwide. There were about ten or so shades that I saw, so you have plenty of variety to choose from.
