Through and through, I am a palette girl. I love makeup palettes because they are easy to tote around and travel with, and I love having a wide array of colors available to me without having to take out multiple products. Having a relaxing Fourth of July weekend, I decided to stop in to my local Ulta store, where I found this gorgeous ninety-two piece (yes, I said ninety-two) palette filled with eyeshadows, lip colors, cheek colors, lip gloss, pressed powder, a mirror, and applicators. The ladies at my local Ulta are always so helpful and sweet to be around (shout-out to you gals if you are reading this right now!), and it is truly such a pleasure to shop there. I knew I wanted to give the ULTA Blockbuster Kit a chance, but I wasn’t sure what to expect, or how pigmented the eyeshadow would be. Look inside to find more photographs and a quick review!
- ULTA 92 Piece Blockbuster Kit in “Trendsetter,” is a palette of makeup in a bolder, more vivid set of colors and shades. The palette consists of 64 eyeshadows, 22 lip Colors, 4 cheek colors, lip gloss, pressed powder, applicators, and a mirror. ULTA considers all of this to be a $175 value, and a lot of the palettes I have purchased recently have been well worth their value. Consider the recent review I did on Sephora’s Color Play 5-in-1 Kit, which has many of the same features, containing a variety of makeup products in a pull-out case, for only $29.50. This ULTA palette retails for $17.99 at your local store, contains more product, and comes in two palettes: “Trendsetter” and “Classic Beauty.” “Classic Beauty” is just that, a set of more neutral, natural shades and colors, while “Trendsetter,” contains both neutrals and bold, vivid colors to work with. Since I love the best of both worlds in makeup, I went with the “Trendsetter” palette.
The kit comes with sixty-four eyeshadows, with a plastic overlay insert containing the name of each shade for easy identification. Each side of the kit pulls out to reveal a new “layer” of makeup colors underneath it. The left side, as you see in the photographs above, contains bolder, more colorful shades, while the right side contains neutrals.
The left side opens to fourteen shades of lip colors and glosses, varying from bubblegum pinks to corals to beige nudes.
The middle of the kit contains various applicators to apply product if you so wish to use them. It also contains four cheek colors and a pressed powder.
The right side of the kit contains neutral eyeshadow shades, as well as eight lip colors, which range from very bold, to feminine and sweet.
Overall, I was very impressed with the eyeshadow in this kit. The colors had great pigment, and there is such a large variety of eyeshadow colors, that you can virtually apply any type of eye makeup look you want. This is a kit I would easily bring with me if I am traveling.
The ULTA 92-Piece Blockbuster Kits currently retail for $17.99 at your local Ulta store, and are available in “Classic Beauty,” and “Trendsetter.” It is a great option for beauties who love makeup kits and palettes or for beauties who missed out on the Sephora palette, or are looking for a more inexpensive option. That is a serious palette! While all of the colors are pretty, I think the neutrals are really gorgeous.
I love palettes, too, but I never use the blushes, only the shadows & lip colors.
