Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss is brand new in stores, with various opaque, rich colors that apply pigmented on your lips. The one that really caught my eye was shade 010 – Hot Pink. It stood out the most, and it looked great on Jessica Biel’s lips in the display box. While I definitely have much more bold hot pink glosses and lipsticks in my collection, that was exactly was drew me to this shade. It looked bold, bright, cheery, and spring-like, without being too in-your-face. It has a gorgeous shimmer in it, and after seeing this shade in several magazines lately, I knew it had to be mine! To see photographs and swatches,
Hot Pink is a shimmering, bright flowery pink. Remember Maybelline’s Pink Peony Review I just did? Just as that lipstick is my “happy shade,” this one is my “happy gloss.” This lip gloss can cheer me up just by looking at the packaging…I’m not even exaggerating. It just has that perfect amount of sheen without being over the top, and it’s bright pink without being neon. The applicator for this gloss is a doe-foot applicator, however, it is flat, with a slight curve in the middle, and two sides. I actually love this applicator tip more than the doe foot ones. It applied the lip gloss smoothly, and it was much easier to apply to the curves of my lips.
The very tiny specks of silver shimmer in it make the bright pink color stand out even more. Even better is that the shimmer doesn’t make this lip gloss gritty at all. You cannot feel the specks of shimmer in it whatsoever, and the lip gloss is ultra moisturizing and smooth. The lip gloss lasted about 2-3 hours, which is about average for a lip gloss. One thing that is nice about these glosses, is that because the color is so opaque and rich, even when it starts to wear off, you can still notice the color on your lips.
Can you tell this shade makes me happy? I have visions of spring…somewhere!
Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss retails for $8.99 at drugstores and mass retailers nationwide. There are several different shades besides “Hot Pink,” as well.
