The Ulta Untamed Color Palette is a gorgeous addition to the Ulta brand cosmetics collection, featuring a triple layer pull out case, with nine eyeshadows, nine lip colors, an eyeliner and lip liner, four cheek colors, and application brushes. To see more photographs and swatches,

I was originally drawn to this palette simply from the outside packaging. The purple croc print is soft and feels luxurious, and you all know that I am a purple fanatic. I also enjoyed how even though the palette is thick and has three layers, everything is stacked on top of one another, making it quite compact for traveling.

The nine eyeshadow shades in this palette are a beautiful representation of the jewel tones and neutrals we are seeing a lot of this season. Each eyeshadow is soft and pigmented, and provides excellent color payoff.

I have to really say that I was impressed with the pigment these eyeshadow shades put down. I was expecting them to come off more sheer, but I was pleased to see how well they applied dry.

Holy gorgeous lip colors! These looked so pretty in the palette, and I was dying to stick my fingers in them immediately to see what they looked like on my lips, but I had to wait to photograph everything first. The lip colors are rich, silky, and pigmented, and a lot of the shades are gorgeous for fall and winter. I also loved that Ulta made sure to include some pinks and neutrals in there, as well, making the lip colors wearable for a variety of women. Also, since a lot of beauty lovers do not like to have to use their finger to apply their lip color, this palette comes with two lip applicator brushes. Problem solved!

The four cheek colors are beautiful as well, with three of them containing a subtle shimmer. Every skin tone can find a shade of cheek color out of the four that will suit them. These cheek colors do apply sheer, which is often times a positive thing for someone who doesn’t want to overdose on blush.

The above photograph shows what the entire palette looks like when it is completely pulled out, layer by layer. This kit also comes with an eyeliner, a lip liner, two eyeshadow applicators, a blush brush, and two lip color applicator brushes. Overall, the price is right. At $14.99 for this entire palette, you’re getting a lot of product, good quality product, and a great assortment of shades. The packaging completes this palette, making it look far more luxurious than it really costs.
