Colorful eyeliner can be worn a variety of different ways: alone and winged out on your upper lash line, as a complement to a colorful makeup look, or worn on the lower lash line for a dramatic pop. The possibilities are endless with colorful eyeliner, and yet so many bold eyeliners fail to deliver great color payoff and long-lasting wear. Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencils are fabulously rich, smooth, and creamy. So creamy, in fact, that when you apply it to your eye, it actually feels and looks like liquid liner. The Liquif’Eye pencils come in a variety of shades, not just bold colors, but the aqua is what caught my eye. After all, it is summertime, and any way I can mimic the gorgeous sparkle of a bright blue sky, or a clear swimming pool, I am on it. To see more photographs,
- Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in “Aqua” boasts a bold, beautiful metallic aqua shade. I suppose at this point it may become apparent that I have a thing for aqua eye pencils. However, before I received this pencil from Milani Cosmetics, I purchased and owned one of these pencils in silver, and have loved it ever since. I find the silver shade to be perfect for applying to the inner corners of my eyes for that extra gleam, and a bright-eyed look. This shade, however, is intensely pigmented, and extremely smooth in its formula. It is probably one of the creamiest eyeliners I have ever used before that was a pencil, and not a liquid. Once you apply this product to your lash line, you simply wait fifteen seconds for the formula to be completely dry, and you will have smudge-proof wear all day long.
When wearing bright eyeliners, whether pencils or liquid, I like to keep my other makeup fairly demure. I have a passion for bright, dramatic, avant garde makeup, but it is simply not what I tend to wear out in public the most often. I typically stick with either lining my lower lash line, or my upper lash line, at any given time. For my upper lash line, I simply applied a dark blue eyeshadow in the crease of my eye, and blended downward slightly into the outer third of my eye. I used the darkest blue shade in my Milani Runway Eyes in “Beauty In Blues,” for this. Then, I applied the Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in “Aqua” over the entire upper lash line, as a way to both complement the crease, and also make it pop.
My next look, is slightly more dramatic, and really makes a statement. I would wear this look out to a party, especially if I was wearing colors that would complement the aqua. I simply applied a neutral brown shade in the crease of my eye, as well as in the outer corner, and blended well. Then, I applied Milani Liquif’Eye pencil in Aqua over the entire lower lash line, including on the waterline.
Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Aqua is extremely similar to the post yesterday about Milani’s Infinite Liquid Liner in “Infinite.” The shades are extremely similar, however, the application differs. If you are concerned about being unable to navigate liquid liner, even after practice, Milani Liquif’Eye is for you. Also, Liquif’Eye is much simpler to apply to the lower lash line than liquid liner is, which can get messy, and typically needs to be smudged for effect.
Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencil in Aqua is also almost an exact dupe for the CARGO Swimmables Pencil in “Turquoise,” having the exact creamy, rich formula, and the vibrant turquoise/aqua shade, but for a fraction of the price. If budget is on your mind, then Milani Liquif’Eye is an excellent dupe for you.
Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic Eyeliner Pencils retail for $5.49 each at your local drugstore, and come in five shades:
- Black
- Aqua
- Gold
- Silver
- Brown

So…this is an old post but I just saw it through your post suggestion thingie and I LOVE it 😀 I never really realized how colored liner on the top vs. the bottom is the difference between day and night. Plus that liner looks beautiful on you. I don’t have any of these yet. I’m going to have to see if Milani still carries them. And I’m rambling so I’ll stop now 😀 xoxo jacqueline~
