The last of the New York Color Berry Bloom Collection that I purchased were the two “Lippin’ Large” lip glosses. Both lip glosses are meant to plump your lips and add sheer color to your pucker. To see full swatches and photographs,
Mulberry (top), Pink Tu-lip (bottom) are the two shades in the Lippin’ Large lip gloss collection as part of Berry Blooms. I was originally skeptical, just because I like my lip gloss to give off a bit of color and not be completely clear or sheer. These both did not disappoint and put down good color for a lip gloss!
Mulberry is a darkened wine shade, which actually has similar qualities to Clinique’s Black Honey Lipstick. The shade looks extremely dark inside the tube (almost black), but once you apply it to your lips, it has a gorgeous wash of sheer, mulberry-wine color.
This lip gloss has absolutely no goopiness or stickiness to it whatsoever. It was completely smooth and hydrating on my lips. The “plumping effect,” is very subtle…it almost gives your lips a minty “cooling” sensation. I did feel that my lips felt and looked fuller after several minutes of wearing this, which I will show you below.
Pink Tu-lip is a gorgeous berry pink with golden shimmer in it. The golden shimmer is what makes this lip gloss so special, and what makes it look so beautiful on your lips. It’s a truly sweet, girly color to wear on your lips, and I loved this one a lot!
As for the plumping effect? It is subtle. It makes your lips feel like they have a minty-fresh cooling sensation, and my lips did feel and look slightly fuller after wearing these, but the effect took about five or ten minutes to really seem noticeable.
Overall, I’d buy these lip glosses more for the gorgeous color and formulation they have, rather than for lip plumping action. Both are gorgeous shades that will carry you through the fall and winter. Again, the best part about New York Color Cosmetics is that their products all carry an inexpensive price tag. I believe these lip glosses were $2.99 each. You can find them at Ulta stores and drugstores nationwide right now, as part of their limited edition Fall 2010 Collection!
As far as the New York Color Berry Bloom Collection? That’s a wrap! We skipped out on two of the nail polishes from the collection and one of the blushes, but the rest of this collection can be found on Beauty Gala below:
