Milani Cosmetics Jewel FX Nail Lacquer is a collection of three polishes that contain tons of chunky glitter in them for a truly bedazzled effect on your nails. If you thought you knew glitter, you were wrong. When you meet these Jewel FX polishes, you are simply blown away by how blingin’ your nails can actually look. These nail polishes have both small and large chunks of glitter in it, but the large chunks of glitter shine like jewels on your nails. Whether layered over another polish for nail art, or used alone, the effect is stunning. To see plenty of photographs and swatches,
Gems is a multi-colored Jewel FX nail polish. The effect reminds me so much of a birthday party! With chunks of orange, purple, blue, red, green, silver, and more, this polish reminds me of a birthday party where confetti has been thrown everywhere. It’s simply fabulously fun, and I love it! Below is two coats of this polish. On the Milani Cosmetics website, they show this polish being used for rhinestone nail art effect, and this polish would be perfect for that. Set in a clear base coat, getting the larger chunks out of this polish can be tricky, especially when trying to apply them evenly. I found the easiest way to make your polish come out evenly is to dab the chunks of glitter onto your nails. Just keep dabbing away, and you get a gorgeous effect!
Gold is the gold-toned Jewel FX nail polish in this collection. With large chunks of gleaming gold glitter, the effect on your nails looks exactly like gold leaf flakes on your fingers. When wearing this polish, you will get noticed! The gold dazzles and pops boldly on your nails, and it literally looks like someone put jewels all over your nails. I was so very impressed with the look these polishes gave. Once again, as with all these polishes, you can use them for nail art rhinestones, or alone to give your nail a really glitzy-glam look. Either way, dabbing is your best way to get a smooth, even bit of glitter.
Silver is the silver toned Jewel FX nail polish from this 3-piece collection, and looks like diamonds all over your nails. Again, the formula is exactly the same on all three of these polishes, and your best bet for getting an even dispersion of the chunky glitter is to dab your little heart away. The clear coat these polishes come in is very smooth and perfect…not too thick, and not too runny. The effect is once again absolutely stunning, and reminds me of the most over-the-top glittering concert or Broadway outfit you could possibly see!
How stunning is the effect on these polishes? When I first looked at the bottle, I was skeptical, thinking “just another glitter nail polish,” but I was proved wrong. I love that you can wear these polishes alone, and look like you have diamonds or jewels all over your nails, or you can simply dab them on over another nail polish for a delightful nail art effect. I think Milani Cosmetics did a fabulous job at keeping it simple but dramatic at the same time! Oh, and psst…these polishes gave me long-wearing bling! They didn’t budge or even chip after six days of wear.
Bottom Line: If you are into the dramatic, glitzy, glamorous look of jewels, you are going to love these polishes. Jewel FX is fantastic because you can use them for rhinestone nail art (without the frustration of gluing on small rhinestones), or you can cover your entire nail for a truly “LOOK AT ME” effect.
Milani Cosmetics Jewel FX Nail Lacquers currently come in three shades: Gems, Gold, and Silver. They retail for $4.99 a bottle, and can be purchased at drugstores nationwide. You can also browse and purchase these nail polishes online at Milani Cosmetics Online.

I so want these! But I can never find them! Some people say Gems is a dupe for China Glaze’s Party Hearty. I wish I could get my hands on these. 🙁

Hey Kimmie! Gems is a much more mixed color than China Glaze’s “Party Hearty” is…it’s not just Christmas colors (red, green, silver). It has very noticeable chunks of orange, purple, blue, and gold in it. The chunks are also much larger. I have seen these in my local store…if I run by them again, I will pick them up for you, and you can just Paypal me…we’ll work it out 🙂
