Summertime is the most apropos time of year to wear colorful, bold eye makeup. As the temperature rises, clothes, accessories, and even nail polish gets brighter and more playful. This look combines a soft shimmering pastel eyelid with an unapologetic metallic pop of color right along the lash line. The look is a bit paradoxical, but it adds to it not being overdone. To see more photographs and learn how to achieve this look,
First, sweep a pastel blue over the entire eyelid, up to the crease. I used my Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette for both of the eyeshadows in this look.
Second, apply a shimmering lime green eyeshadow to your crease. We want the pastel blue and the lime green to blend and fade in to one another so the merge is seamless. This look is all about not looking perfect, but more or less having the eyelid look like a unique piece of artwork before laying down the bold liner.
Third, apply a bright sea blue eyeliner to your lash line. I used a Cargo Swimmables Eye Pencil in “Turquoise,” which is creamy, rich, pigmented, and stays put. Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara to finish the look.
Viola! Metallic Sea Makeup.
This entire look took me less than five minutes to apply, and when I wore this out, I got a good amount of questions as to what I was wearing and how I achieved it. The Cargo Swimmables Eye Pencils are a huge staple in my makeup looks this summer, and I absolutely love them.
