The MAC Cosmetics Venomous Villains Collection is limited edition, and highly anticipated since all of the products are Disney themed! There are four sets that each contain themed products inside the collection, “Cruella,” “Maleficent,” “Evil Queen,” and “Dr. Facilier.” I personally picked up three lipglasses from this collection, “Strange Potion,” “Wicked Ways,” and “Revenge is Sweet.” They were the shades I thought were the most gorgeous, and also some of the most coveted from the collection. Keep in mind that much of this collection sold out almost immediately online, and even I almost got mowed down at the MAC counter on release morning. So, if you’re looking for any of these, visit your MAC counter as soon as possible! For plenty of photographs and swatches,
The packaging on these are absolutely amazing, especially if you are a Disney fanatic or enthusiast. I love Disney, and while I am not a fanatic, I adore that MAC chose to go with a Disney theme for this collection, and they executed the packaging flawlessly. It’s quite fun to pull out a lip gloss and see a Disney villain on it before you apply the product to your lips!
Strange Potion is from The Evil Queen set, inspired by the Evil Queen in Snow White. This shade was one of the first lipglasses to be sold out online, and I understand why! It is a gorgeous, soft coral pink gloss that dazzles on your lips. This shade is a great neutral for your lips and can be worn with a great variety of makeup looks. I love the way this shade looks with my skin tone, and since I personally wear a lot of pink/nude lips, this is the perfect lipglass for me.
Strange Potion is also a lip gloss that is universally flattering on everyone no matter what your skin tone is!
Wicked Ways is from the Cruella set, and the most perfect shade to represent Cruella De Vil. It is described by MAC as a “deep fuchsia with pink pearl.” I would say this is more on the flat out raspberry side. It’s almost red, but still has that berry tone to it, instead of being a true red. Also, the pink pearl shine to this is absolutely beautiful. I will undoubtedly be wearing this shade when I am feeling extra vampy, or want to jazz up my look for the day. Stunning!
Wicked Ways is a great option for you if you’d like to wear a dramatic lip, but not go full on red. The raspberry/fuchsia shade is much more flattering than classic red, as well.
Revenge is Sweet is from the Maleficent set, depicting the villain from Sleeping Beauty. This shade is a “yellow-based purple” lip gloss, and don’t let the shade inside the packaging fool you. This shade is flat out lovely and flattering on many different skin tones. The color is somewhat sheer, and the base in the purple makes your teeth look whiter. I was originally going to skip out on this shade, but I am extremely happy that I chose to purchase it, because this one might be my favorite of the three!
Revenge is Sweet is a great way to pull off the violet purple lip trend without going overboard.
The MAC Venomous Villains Collection is limited edition, and quite a bit of it is sold out online already. You can try visiting your local MAC counter to see what is still available. As far as finding sold-out items, your best bet is to check places such as e-Bay, or even through social media, such as makeup forums, or Twitter to see if anyone is selling items they have from this collection. Each lipglass retails for $15.50 at MACCosmetics.com.
