There is something about gutsy red lips…the bombshell sex appeal, the confidence you have when you wear it out, and it never fails to look timeless and sensual. After seeing Beyonce wearing her new L’oreal Infallible Lipcolour in an advertisement, I thought I would go ahead and give it a try. I typically live my fashion and beauty life with a “no rules” motto, and I adore bold red lips. How in the world I never tried L’oreal Infallible Lipcolour before is beyond me, because let me tell you, I am now obsessed. The formula is ridiculously long-wearing, completely water and smudge-proof and does not budge until you want it to, with makeup remover. Interested in how “Beyonce’s Red” looks?
L’oreal Infallible Lipcolour is a small, metallic, rectangular lip color with a two step system. On one side, there is a pull out doe-foot applicator to apply the color, and on the other side, there is a pull out lip conditioner. The packaging on this lip gloss is beautiful, and looks much more expensive and high-end than it really was. Also, I love the Beyonce “signature” on the packaging. It reminds me of MAC Viva Glam Gaga and Cyndi, and just adds that extra special touch. Besides, who wouldn’t want Beyonce’s sex appeal?
First, you apply the lip color with a doe-foot applicator, just like a lip gloss. The formula however is not a lip gloss, though it applies exactly like one at first. It will feel a bit sticky on your lips, and you need to allow a minute or two for the lip color to dry on your lips. Once dry, it will feel, wear, and look exactly like a lipstick. After the two minutes is up (it actually only took thirty seconds to dry for me), you apply step two, which is a clear lip conditioner. It looks similar to a plain, clear lip balm, and conditions your lips, smooths them out, and leaves behind a light, natural sheen to the color.
Now, look at the lip conditioner above, and tell me if you spy a single drop of fiery red lip color on it. Wondering why? L’oreal Infallible Lipcolour is amazing, that is why. I literally tested this lip color in every situation I could think of, including kissing my husband, the back of my hand, drinking from a straw and a glass, and wiping it off with my hand. This lip color did not budge, smudge, or rub off at all. It did not come off onto the lip conditioner, either, when I used it, which is just incredible for a lip color. This is one of those beauty products that I have a complete epiphany on, even though it has been out for awhile, and I am beyond impressed with it.
Beyonce Red is the most rich, luxurious red lip color, and it just happens to suit my skin tone wonderfully which I was very pleased with. After seeing it on Beyonce, I was worried that it wouldn’t suit my skin tone as well, and while it does look different on me, it still looked absolutely pigmented, rich, and bombshell. I can see “Beyonce’s Red” being a red lip color that works well on a variety of skin tones.
Are red lips just not your thing? I definitely encourage you to still check out the L’oreal Infallible Lipcolour line. The lip color is incredibly pigmented and rich in color, and the sixteen hour wear coverage is unbelievable. I will be innocently scouring my drugstore aisles for more shades of L’oreal Infallible Lipcolour myself throughout these next few weeks!
