One of the most popular questions people ask me is “What is your most common makeup look?” The look I do the most often and that is most flattering to my particular skin tone and eye color is copper. I love the way copper looks on my eyes and I use it for both subtle and dramatic looks. Sometimes I’ll just sweep it on and curl my lashes, apply mascara, and be done. Other days, I use a darker brown to make the look deeper and more dramatic. The look I wore today contained eyeshadow shades from the LORAC Pro Palette. I’ve professed my love for this palette so many times, but seriously, I’ve dug into this palette more often than any other palette other than my Urban Decay Naked Palettes.
Above is the LORAC Pro Palette. It’s actually cheaper than the Urban Decay Naked Palettes and, in my opinion, better. The shades are very pigmented and you get a nice variety of shimmer and matte shades. I highlighted the shades I used in purple. First, I swept Garnet over my entire eyelid and lower lash-line. I applied Taupe to my crease and blended it upward. I applied Deep Purple to the outer-third of my eyes and lower lashes. I applied Cream along my brow-bones and inner corners of my eyes to add some light to the look. The effect is basically a gradient smoky eye, but using the gorgeous Garnet color which is a fiery copper shade.
I really enjoy the way the finished look comes out. I vary this look from day to day, sometimes adding eyeliner, sometimes not. The copper eyelid shade really brings out the color of my eyes and it also helps make my complexion look more tan and glowing.
Copper looks great on every eye color because it makes blue and green pop by contrast and it brings out the warmth of brown and hazel eyes.
That’s my Friday Look of the Day!
