‘Tis the season for eating, drinking and being merry. That lip color you’ve got on though, how long does it last on your lips? I find that I get frustrated around this time of year because I’ll do my makeup and wear a nice lip color, only for it to transfer to my drinking glass or better yet, my food. Before I know it, I’m practically eating my own lipstick and my lips are bare again. One of my favorite products to use around the holiday season when I know I’ll be eating and drinking a lot is lip stain. The Physician’s Formula Sexy Glow Glossy Stain goes on like a lip gloss but has a distinctly thin, quickly-drying formula to it that adheres to your lips and stays put. This product comes in Red as well, but today I’ve got Hot Pink for you. If you’ve ever used the very gorgeous but expensive YSL Glossy Stains, these areĀ very similar in formula and feel to those, but a fraction of the price.

The packaging on the Physician’s Formula Sexy Booster products are always fantastically gorgeous. They tend to have very vivacious, sexy, boudoir-like packaging to them. These products claim to have pheromone-mimicking ingredients to “enhance your sexy side.” I’m not completely sure about attracting the opposite sex with this product, since I’m a) married and b) not likely to put on lip stain to get his attention, but it definitely smells wonderful, like warm vanilla. I also felt that it made my lips look pouty and fuller after I applied it.
The packaging is super sexy with some fishnet material around the cap and a silver high-heel charm.
The applicator has a pointed tip so it’s really simple to apply it perfectly to the contours and curves of your lips. With lip stain, it’s especially important to be able to apply it precisely so that you don’t end up with stained color all around your mouth area.
Hot Pink is a bright fuchsia pink shade with some plum tones in it. It goes on super smooth and has a thin, slightly sticky texture to it. If you’ve ever used YSL’s Glossy Stains, it has the exact same feel and formula to it. It dries down to a hot pink stain on your lips that will last and last. I was able to drink water all day with this on and my lips still had a hot pink stain to them in the afternoon.
I think it’s a flattering color for anyone, from fair to dark skin. It’s bright, but since it has a stain formula to it, it looks more natural and sophisticated, sort of like your lips would look after drinking a berry fruit drink or after eating a lollipop.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive drugstore product that will actually stay put through holiday parties, this is a great option for you. I own it in Hot Pink and Red, and they are my go-to lip products for this season. They last, even if I pat my lips on a napkin.
Physician’s Formula Sexy Glow Glossy Stain is available in Hot Pink and Red, and retails for $9.95 USD each. You can find Physician’s Formula products at drugstores and mass retailers nationwide. You can also browse and purchase this Glossy Stain online at the PF Cosmetics website.
