One of the best-selling tinted moisturizers out there is the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, and take it from personal experience, it is truly an amazing product. It gives me just enough coverage without feeling heavy and it evens out my complexion perfectly. When my skin is clear and I don’t have any breakouts, I actually prefer to wear tinted moisturizer over foundation since I only need a light coverage that will cover up any redness or pigmentation issues. Laura Mercier turned their best-selling tinted moisturizer into a Creme Compact, making it perfect for travel and touch-up’s on the go. I put this product to the test by taking before and after photograph’s inside!
The shade I was sent is “Blush,” which is the second to lightest color, and is much too pale for me. My shade is “Sand” and “Caramel” in Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer typically. It’s okay though because I can still review the formula, how long it wore on my face, how it felt, and so forth. Also, during the coldest winter months, this shade will probably match my skin tone more with a little bit of bronzer. For now, it’s still quite steamy in the south, so I’m still getting sunshine and have color to me. Keep this in mind as I show the product, so if you are the same skin tone as me, you don’t want to purchase this particular shade because it will be too light.
The formula is exactly the same as their liquid tinted moisturizer, just in a compact. I actually really love this idea because if you need to touch up your makeup while you’re traveling or out, there is very little likelihood of you whipping out your tube of tinted moisturizer, a brush, and a mirror and reapplying the whole she-bang. This is the same size as your typical powder compact, so it’s discreet and you can essentially use the small powder sponge it comes with as your tool for touch-up’s. I am always looking for products that multi-task or are easier to tote around with you. When I travel I tend to overdo it in the packing department, so it allows me to throw my essentials in a makeup bag without being overloaded.
The formula on this is fabulous. I actually love that it’s still creamy and moisturizing like the liquid version, but there is also a “stiffness” and “hardness” to the product inside of the compact. It allows you to not overdo it when applying, as it can be really easy to use too much product at once. With the compact, it allows you to dip the sponge applicator or a brush straight into the compact and pick up the perfect amount of product. I’d actually say this is the number one reason why I love this so much…I never feel like I am wasting any of the product, whereas I have squeezed too much out of the liquid version which then went to waste. Since this is a high-end product, I want to get the most use for my money, and the compact version allows me to do this.
Okay, so in my BEFORE picture, where I am wearing absolutely no makeup, you can see that I don’t have any current breakouts but I do have some spots here and there from hyper-pigmentation, past breakouts, and overall redness around the nose (like many females get from hormones). In general, I rarely get breakouts but feel that I need something to even out my skin tone and make it look flawlessly uniform. The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Creme Compact does just that. It’s not heavy feeling at all! It feels so lightweight and you almost don’t even notice it on your skin at all.
Okay, so keeping in mind that this shade is a bit too light for me, this product did an amazing job at evening out my skin tone without looking heavy or cakey. It gave me a flawless, uniform look that covered up my pores, redness, and any spots I had on my face. It’s essentially a “your-skin-but-better” product, rather than completely covering up your skin like a mask. I was extremely pleased with the results this product gave me. I actually had to use very little in order to achieve this effect, as well. I dipped a stippling brush into the compact a few times, and I was pleasantly surprised at how little product you need to actually even everything out.

i was read some reviews in makeupalley.com telling this compact form is too sheer, and low coverage. But on you, it’s gorgeous!
