For the past two weeks, I’ve been testing out the brand new la prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Collection. It features the Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Oil and the Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream. Both are packaged in a luxurious box that look and feel so special. I was very excited to try these out, knowing how incredible la prairie’s skin products are. My skin is normally oily/combination, but with the temperature ever changing here and the dry winter air moving in, it has felt seriously dry. I put these two gorgeous products to the test…inside!

The Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Collection contains elements from very rare, special plants in the Swiss Alps. As you can imagine, very few plants actually survive the harsh climate there, but two plants and a type of algae do survive, and la prairie has found a way to integrate them into an anti-aging formula that also works for environmentally stressed skin. Here are the main stars in these products:
- Swiss Snow Algae — hibernates through winter, emerging as the snow begins to melt
- Soldanella Alpina — creates its own energy to surface through the ice, revealing a beautiful bloom
- Purple Saxifrage — cocoons itself with ice crystals to protect its delicate buds against the environmental conditions
If there are actually plants that can withstand the climate of the Swiss Alps, then I am all for using them on my skin. I was excited to see how they worked on my face to create moisture and smooth out my skin.
The Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Cream is a super lightweight cream that you apply to your face, neck, and décolleté. Don’t be fooled by how lightweight this cream feels, though, because as soon as you smooth this onto your skin, it is like heaven in a jar. This cream makes your skin super smooth and soft to the touch, like baby skin again. It has a light, but very pleasant scent to it that smells very luxurious. I use a dime-sized amount of product for my entire face and neck area and it is more than enough product. Every single morning when I woke up after using this, I had the most incredible glow to my skin. I even got compliments that I was “glowing” and my skin looked “incredibly perfect.”
The Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Oil is a “dry oil,” and it’s very light on your skin. I never thought that I would be using oil on my face, especially as someone with oily skin, but this product is fantastic and flawless. It comes with a fancy glass dropper that allows you to drop precisely the amount you want. I made an emulsion of the cream and this oil, which helps the cream to last longer. It also felt like it penetrated my skin more when I used this oil on my face. Again, I applied just a couple of drops with the cream to my face and neck, and it made my skin look and feel extraordinary. The healthy glow that these products gave my skin was unlike any other I’ve experienced before.
I love the packaging on this product and the quote against the back of the box. It’s a reminder of how incredible nature really is, and how far scientists have come with developing skincare products that contain exotic and useful ingredients that actually work. Every single thing about these la prairie products feels luxurious and fancy. I am loving the samples that I received, and I am definitely rationing my supply off so that they will last me awhile. They are THAT superior to any of my other skincare products.
To give you an idea, here are a couple of photographs of my skin after using la prairie’s Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Collection. I feel that my skin looks smoother, healthier, and much more glowing. I can already tell that it has some anti-aging benefits in it, too. The fine lines underneath my eyes are less pronounced, and my skin isn’t as dry, so it creates a more youthful look. These products also play very nice with makeup, so you can use them before you apply your face makeup and still get a great result.
la prairie’s products have really made my skin look and feel better than ever. If you’d like to check out the products for yourself, you can visit the la prairie website. These are definitely worth checking out and they definitely get my A+ recommendation.
Miles high in the Swiss Alps, in a world of sheer ice crystals, beauty transcends time. Here, two seemingly fragile plants and one tiny algae survive and thrive in the harshest setting on earth, developing strategies to outwit the environment. It’s only fitting then that la prairie, with a heritage deeply rooted in Switzerland, harnessed these extreme-survivalist secrets into the Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Collection. The discovery combines some of the most sophisticated survivalist secrets.
