The Kardashian’s may be one of America’s most polarizing families, but there is no denying that the Kardashian sisters have had great success with their branding of clothing, shoes, and accessories. Khroma Beauty is Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe’s new makeup and beauty line. I stumbled across the new display at a brand new Ulta store in my area, and the display was almost completely sold out! One thing is for sure, these ladies know how to sell out anything with their name on it, and their new beauty line is apparently a hot ticket. I was very interested in trying out the brand, naturally, since the Kardashian sisters are often known for their various makeup and hair trends. I put “Kim’s Kardazzle” to the test, which is a full face palette, containing her signature smokey eye colors. The best part about this palette? It’s extremely affordable and has the price tag of a drugstore makeup brand!
Khroma Beauty brought up a really funny conversation between my husband and I. He asked me why so many women dislike the Kardashian sisters, yet so many of their products (such as this makeup line) are completely sold out and often really in demand. I honestly had no answer for him, but I did tell him that while I’m not personally a huge fan of the Kardashian’s, I do respect the fact that they are makeup, hair, and fashion trendsetters, and often have flawless, gorgeous makeup looks. I think everyone at this point can identify the “signature Kim Kardashian” makeup look, which is of course a heavy smokey eye, contoured cheekbones, and pale pink glossy lips.
Kim’s Kardazzle is a complete face palette featuring eight eyeshadows (4 matte shades and 4 shimmer shades), as well as a pull-out second tray that has a blush, highlighter, and bronzer. The actual palette is quite small and compact, which makes it ideal for traveling or storing right into your makeup bag or purse. The packaging is definitely great for those who travel a lot or hate bulky makeup palettes. I was surprised at how lightweight and compact this palette is. I could easily fit this into my makeup bag when I’m on a trip and not feel like I’m taking up much space at all. And, it pretty much has everything I would need to use on my face except for mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick.
The matte shades in this palette are wonderfully pigmented, soft, and smooth. There is a dark grey, a silver, a black, and a dark teal blue. I love that this palette included matte shades in it! I like to put shimmer on my eyelid and matte shades into my crease a lot of times, so this is perfect. I was definitely pleasantly surprised at how pigmented these were.
The shimmer shades in this palette are stunning. These were also velvety soft and so opaque when swatched. The shimmer in these shadows is really noticeable and light-reflecting.
I was genuinely extremely pleased with the eyeshadow in this palette! I wasn’t getting my hopes up, but this blew my expectations out of the water. Each eyeshadow was very pigmented and a pleasure to work with.
The second tray delivers yet another round of gorgeous color. The blush is very pigmented, and puts down dazzling pink color. A little bit of this blush will go a long way, and I love how bright and feminine it is. The highlighter is my favorite. It is just the most beautiful champagne color with a golden sheen to it. It would look amazing on the brow-bone, in the corners of your eyes, and on your cheekbones. The bronzer is pigmented and beautiful as well, though I’m not sure it’s exactly right for my skin tone. Overall, I usually expect the additional face products in an eyeshadow palette to be mediocre, and these face shades blew me away. They are incredible.
Overall: “Kim’s Kardazzle” definitely blew my expectations out of the water. Each eyeshadow and face shade was pigmented, opaque, and rich in color. If you’re looking for smokey eye shades that will be great for the upcoming holiday’s, this is a wonderful, affordable option. I think these little face kits would make amazing holiday gifts as well, seeing as how they are so affordable and accessible.
