Happy Independence Day! I absolutely love the Fourth of July, it is one of my favorite holidays because it marks the halfway point through the year and really sets off the summer. I always have good memories of going to the fireworks in Red Bank, New Jersey, where they have one of the most extravagant displays in the country. Now that I live in South Carolina, we keep it fun with a BBQ and since fireworks are legal here, we watch from our own backyard! I decided to pick up these imPRESS Nails because I had been eyeing them for awhile, but then I found the star design I had been looking for, and thought they’d be perfect to test out for the holiday. To see plenty of pictures,
This particular design was from the “Nicole Scherzinger” design collection, and it was also the only one left of its kind. To be honest, these imPRESS nails have been sold out almost everywhere I’ve looked! They have a really gorgeous duo-chrome look to them, where they look navy blue, but also glow a purplish-gold. The instructions come on the back, as well, making it really easy to follow.
The kit comes with a “Prep Pad,” which is essentially an alcohol wipe that you apply to your nails to remove any dirt, oil, or residue. It also comes with a mini nail file/buffer to shape your nails.
What is also great about these nails is that they come in a plastic nail polish bottle that seals. If you have leftover nails, you can keep them sealed in here.
I like to find nails that match each nail size first, and then line them up one-by-one so that they are side-by-side. This makes application really fast and easy. To find nails that match your particular nail size, make sure that the cuticle of your nails are not covered:
The above thumbnail still has the sticky tab on it, but I lined it up to my nail cuticle first to make sure it matched up well. You don’t want to choose a nail that is too small and shows the sides of your nail obviously, but you also don’t want to pick a nail too large that is covering your cuticles.
Swipe your nails with the “prep pad” well, so you can remove oil and dirt. This will help the sticker adhere to your nail better.
Starting at the pinky finger, apply the nail by peeling back the sticker strip and pressing firmly. Work toward your thumb, so that it is the last finger you do.
The End Result:
Overall: These nails are awesome because they provide extremely fast application without using sticky, gross nail glue that gets everywhere. Each nail has a sticker that adheres to your nail via a removable tab. The tabs can be somewhat difficult to remove once you have nails on, because they are small, but that is the only downside I noticed. These nails seem to really hold up, and they are great in a pinch!
May you all have a wonderful Independence Day in the beautiful United States of America!
