Holiday 2011 Lookbook: Nicole by OPI Limited Edition Holiday Glitters, Photographs & Swatches

As I typed “Holiday 2011″ into the title of this post, I stopped and asked myself where time has gone. It is kind of insane to think that we already approaching the holiday season this year already. Luckily for all you beauty lovers, holiday season also means plenty of new releases in makeup and nail polish. These brand new, limited edition Nicole by OPI Holiday Glitters are all sparkly, festive, and add plenty of bling to your life.

“The holiday season’s celebratory feeling lends itself to added glitz and glamour in fashion, jewelry, accessories, and most importantly – for nails!” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The four alluring Holiday Glitters shades offer a great way to add lots of color. Red and gold glitter tones offer a more classic holiday look, while magenta and sapphire blue incorporate rich, weighty jewel tones – which is another important trend for the season.”

I was very impressed with these limited edition Holiday Glitters because they actually have a gorgeous dimension and depth to them because of the addition of multi-colored glitter and shimmer. If you’re feeling ready for the season, go ahead and check out photographs and swatches of these four dazzling shades,

Left to right: My Sleigh's In The Shop, Orna-ment For Each Other, Snow-man Of My Dreams, Glitter In My Stocking

I love Nicole by OPI, and have been a longtime fan of the brand because they are available at stores like Target which makes them easily accessible. They also always apply well and last on my nails for a longer than average amount of time. Put some glitter nail polish in front of me and I am sure to drool. Let’s explore the shades individually, shall we?

Snow-man Of My Dreams

Snow-man Of My Dreams is a rainbow-glitter packed blue nail polish. I love this one so much more than I thought I was going to! It has what I like to describe as “birthday party” glitter in it, meaning all different colors of the rainbow. It’s super reflective, and it makes the blue color pop that much more. It reminds me of a gorgeous bright blue ornament on a Christmas tree!

Orna-ment For Each Other

Orna-ment For Each Other is a tomato-red with loads of glitter and bronze glitter in it. This isn’t your typical red glitter nail polish because it looks different depending on your lighting. It can look like a bronzed burgundy, a rust-red, or a bright orange-red depending on your lighting and the angle. It’s definitely a beautifully festive color!

Glitter In My Stocking

Glitter In My Stocking is a gold with bright orange and red flecks of glitter in it. Another shade that completely surprised me by how wonderful and flattering it looked on my nails. The orange and red flecks of glitter add extra dimension and warmth to the gold, and really glow from within. I have other gold glitter polishes in my collection, but none with the added dimension of multi-colored glitter like this one.

My Sleigh's In The Shop

My Sleigh’s In The Shop is a dazzling magenta purple with loads of metallic glitter in it. Of course, being a purple lover, I completely fell for this shade. What else is there to say? It sparkles, glitters, and shines with that flash of purple color that looks feminine but sophisticated. Purple is a bit of an unexpected shade for a holiday collection, so I was quite happy with the addition of this one to the collection!

Overall: My impression of this collection was all positive. The shades are multi-dimensional and the shades deviate from your typical cliche holiday colors such as just red or green. The formula on this polish was effective, and I only needed two coats for opaque coverage in the above swatches. The wear was about a week with some minor tip-wear and chipping. If you’re into glitters, or you are just looking to spice things up for the holidays then this is a great limited edition collection to grab for.
