Happy Spring Equinox! Today I have a gorgeous Spring 2014 release for you, the Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette “In The Tropics.” It’s a gorgeous palette with ten baked eyeshadow shades in varying colors. Sephora really did a fantastic job of choosing colors for this palette because the shades remind me perfectly of a night in a tropical, exotic location underneath the moon. I decided to put together a spring look for you, as well, with lots of pastel shades that glimmer in the light. Come and enjoy the first official day of spring with me!

The Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette “In The Tropics” contains ten baked eyeshadow shades. Ignore that upper left shade…it almost bit the dust while it was shipped, but luckily it survived. The top row of shadows is full of earth-tones, a green and shades of bronze and brown. The bottom row has a gold and a champagne beige shade, but there are also 3 gorgeous purple shades. The overall mix is very exotic and they’re all shimmering shades.
If you’re looking for a really pretty, inexpensive eyeshadow palette for the spring and summer, this is a fantastic option for you. The color payoff is fabulous. The eyeshadow shades are all smooth, pigmented, and full of shimmering color. Every single shade performed well.
For this look, I used the three purple shades in the palette to create a gradient effect. I popped the lightest purple closest to my inner eye, and then applied the darkest shade on the outer corner of my eyelid. I did the same along my lower lash-line. To really make this look pop, I applied the shimmering champagne shade to the inner corners of my eyes (bottom row, last shade). I love the combination of the shimmering beige and the purple together. When the light hits it, it just looks extraordinary. To make the pastels pop, I added black eyeliner to my water-line and upper lash-line.
For my lips, I used the brand new Maybelline Lipstick in “Ravishing Rose,” from their Spring 2014 nudes collection. It’s a stunningly smooth, moisturizing light rose pink. Just gorgeous.
The finished look is about glowing skin, glowing pastel eyes, and shimmering pastel pink lips. Everything about the look is soft, except for the eyeliner, which makes the eye color really pop and stand out. Spring is my second favorite season so I’m very jovial that it’s finally here!
The limited edition Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette “In The Tropics” is available at Sephora stores nationwide, as well as online at Sephora’s website. Each palette retails for $27.00 USD. You can browse and purchase this palette by clicking here.
