I hope you’re ready for some serious gorgeousness. I was just listening to the radio the other day in the car and they were talking about how brown lipstick is making a comeback for the fall season. We’re talking full on 90’s chocolate-inspired shades. There’s something very rich and grungy about these darker shades, and they require very little other makeup to be worn with them, which I love. I’ve got the brand new NARS 413 BLKR Lipstick swatches inside,

413 BLKR is a “deep rose brown” shade. It has a semi-matte finish which is perfect because it manages to stay hydrating enough but still looks super luxe and sophisticated. The story behind the name of this lipstick: it’s named after the brand’s first flagship address in New York City’s West Village neighborhood!
This was super pigmented in just a couple of swipes. The formula felt slightly dry but not as dry as a lot of other matte lipsticks are. The shade is so rich and full of chocolate-brown color that has some rose tones it.
Love, love, LOVE. This reminds me so much of the 90’s. It reminds me of the lipstick that I used to love on “Beverly Hills 90210.” It encompasses the grunge era perfectly and yet still manages to look sexy and sophisticated.
I have no other makeup on in the photograph above except for my NARS 413 BLKR Lipstick. I was swatching this lipstick and didn’t have any makeup on. Then I looked in the mirror and realized that the shade is just so beautiful even by itself. Leaving the rest of your face bare just gives off that 90’s vibe even more. I adore how universally flattering this shade is, too. It’ll look great on fair skin tones to dark skin tones because of the chocolate and rose tones in it. You can also dab this lipstick on for a lighter wash of color if you prefer. It’s definitely a versatile shade.
The NARS 413 BLKR Lipstick is available exclusively at NARS boutiques and online at NARS website. Each lipstick retails for $26.00 USD. Find a location near you. I think this is going to be a wildly popular shade for the upcoming fall and winter seasons. It’s definitely a huge trend that is coming back, and I have to say, I am down for it!
