I was playing around in my makeup collection last night because I started feeling really sick and wanted to try to take my mind off of it. I had an awful headache, a sick stomach, and generally felt weak. I woke up this morning to a 102 degree fever and have basically been bed-ridden all day. I decided to quickly put together this post since this is my first time all day that I’ve been up and feeling somewhat decent. If you’ve got blue eyes (or any variation of blue/green), the best way to enhance them is through copper eyeshadow. I’ve seen countless numbers of celebrities who have gorgeous blue eyes rocking the copper eyeshadow trend, including Julianne Hough, Katy Perry, and Adriana Lima. It’s often an understated way to bring out the blue in your eyes since copper doesn’t look extremely bold or colorful (it is, essentially, a “neutral”), and many makeup artists use it as a trick to enhance blue eyes to their fullest potential. On days when I want my eyes to look extra blue, I’ll wear a variation of the copper eyeshadow look above, and it makes my eyes look lighter and brighter. To see how to achieve this look,
I used some colors from my Inglot Cosmetics palette. I still haven’t filled my palette completely up, but I seriously adore Inglot. Their eyeshadow is so insanely pigmented and their prices are very reasonable, especially if you purchase several eyeshadow shades at once. Everything is magnetic so you simply get an eyeshadow pan to fill your palette up with, which then sticks into the palette like a magnet. I love the way the palettes work because I can pick and choose my own favorite shades and sort them how I please! The only downside to the Inglot palettes are that every eyeshadow is named by number, and once you drop the eyeshadow into the magnetized slot in the palette, it’s going to be quite difficult to pull it out to see what shade number it is. I definitely recommend labeling your eyeshadow shade numbers ahead of time if you want to remember what is what.
How To Achieve This Look:
The shades I used for this palette are highlighted by the pink boxes above. I used Inglot #15, the lightest copper-peach shade, over my entire eyelid. This is a stunning shade and has so much iridescence to it. Then, I popped the shade to the left of it, Inglot #51, in my crease, and blended it well. I applied the dark chocolate brown (not sure of the shade number) to the outer third of my eye only, blending it upward and out. I added some black eyeliner to my lower lash-line and added mascara. The look is a little bit smokey, and the copper really brings out the blue tones. Copper is a fantastic way to bring out your eye color without looking like you’re wearing a ton of makeup. It is going to make your eyes look lighter and brighter without you having to worry about wearing too much makeup, or looking too bold.
The Finished Look:
Feel free to use any copper eyeshadow you have in your collection. Play around with various copper/coral/tangerine shades and see what enhances your complexion and skin tone the most.
Off to get some more rest and fluids for me…I need to break this fever and nurse myself back to health as soon as possible! If you have any questions about Inglot Cosmetics, I’d be more than happy to answer them. There are various Inglot stores as well as an online store.
