I freakin’ love ColourPop Cosmetics like you wouldn’t believe. Their products are an insane beauty bargain and the color payoff and pigmentation is fantastic. Each Super Shock Eyeshadow has a unique formula to it that is similar to the MAC Electric Cool products. The eyeshadow itself is “squishy” when you press on it and feels like it is a cream, but dries down to a powder. Every shade is unique and has such a depth and dimension to it. I’ve got their holiday set, Not A Box of Chocolates for you today. Full swatches and thoughts inside,
ColourPop Not A Box of Chocolates has gorgeous packaging, just like always. One of the things I admire the most about this company is their attention to detail. They make you feel special when you open your package! Inside of this set are six all-new Super Shock Eyeshadow shades.
Each Super Shock Eyeshadow is a good size, with a slightly larger pan size than a typical MAC Eyeshadow. Since these have the unique “squishy” cream-to-powder formula, these will last you forever.
SWATCHES:
Halo is a golden champagne dusted with glitter. It was extremely difficult to pick up how stunning this shade is with my camera because it is so light and really melts into my skin tone. This is the perfect highlight color for the inner corners of your eyes or even your cheekbones and brow-bone. It’s super metallic and catches the light gorgeously. This is one of those shades you just have to see in person to appreciate.
Tinsel is a greyed out mauve-lavender with an icy finish. This is such a unique shade, as so many of the ColourPop colors are. The depth and dimension and sparkle go beyond the typical eyeshadow and you will pick up different shades depending on the angle and lighting.
Partridge is a dark brown with a green duo-chrome finish. This is just such a cool shade to look at because at one angle it’s brown and in the next, it’s green! The duo-chrome effect is very strong and it’s a lovely shade to wear everyday.
Sleigh is a light sage green shade with loads of frosty glitter in it. This is a FANTASTIC option for those of you who want to wear green eyeshadow but are afraid of looking crazy. The icy, muted tones really help make this a green shade that every skin tone can pull off. Also, the added glitter in it makes it extra festive and fun.
Drift is a cranberry shade that has a very slight shimmer to it when looked at closely. I personally love wearing shades like this against my blue-green eyes because they are opposite each other on the color wheel and make my eyes really pop. This is a great shade for all eye colors though.
Doe-A-Deer is a blackened violet that is matte but still has sparkle in it. Holy gorgeousness. I am obsessed with this one so much because the matte finish is on point! This is great for creating a smokey eye and the sparkle in it sits inside the matte finish.

Overall, this entire set is full of opaque, pigmented eyeshadow shades. I have not had any problems whatsoever with the ColourPop eyeshadow shades in terms of pigmentation and formula. I’m a huge fan of their products and their Super Shock Eyeshadow shades. I own several other shades and at $5 a pop (yes, you heard that right, FIVE dollars), you can afford to add more than just one or two to your collection.
The ColourPop Not A Box of Chocolates Set is a limited edition Holiday 2014 kit. The kit retails for $30.00 USD and can be purchased here.
