For this look, I used one of the new palettes from Wet n Wild’s holiday collection, Shimmer The Night Away. I was curious to put the eyeshadow in this palette to the test since the colorful shades in it were a little on the light side, and I was curious to see how they performed on my actual eyes. With a little blending and layering, you can build up a really colorful, bright, fun look. This would be perfect for those who love bold eye looks, and it would even be great to wear for Halloween if you’re not into the whole dressing up thing. There have been years where I didn’t actually dress up, but I did a really bold eye makeup look just to feel festive. Tutorial inside…
- Apply the bright blue shade to your entire eyelid, stopping at the crease.
- Blend the lilac purple into the socket of your eye, blending upward. The point is to create a slight gradient effect.
- Apply the silver into the inner corners of your eyes to add shine.
- Apply the fuchsia pink onto your entire lower lash-line. Since this color wasn’t as pigmented as the others, I applied it using a wet brush.
- Apply the sparkling black shade to the outer third of your eyelid and blend well with a brush to create a smokey effect.
- Use black eyeliner on your lower water-line and upper lash-line, flicking it out into a dramatic cat eye. Apply pink/fuchsia glitter on top of the pink eyeshadow on your lower lash-line for some glitz and glamour.
- Curl your lashes and apply mascara.
I think the addition of the fuchsia pink glitter is what makes this look extra fun and special. It pops against the blue on your eyelid. I also flicked both my top liner and the bottom pink eyeshadow and glitter out into a “double wing.”
The effect is bright and dramatic, but playful. Like I said, this would be fun to wear to a Halloween party if you’re not dressing up but want to have your makeup stand out. I’m personally going as something very frightening and gross this Halloween. I will be sure to post photographs after I go to a Halloween party tomorrow night!
