This has to be my favorite nail polish collection in years, and definitely the most unique out of my embarrassingly huge nail polish collection. Every one of the six shades from this collection left me speechless. To be perfectly honest, this collection is so gorgeous and innovative that I don’t want to “talk” much in this post, I just want to leave you with photography swatch spam. So, sit back, enjoy the drool-worthy swatches, and let me know what you think of them!
Orly Cosmix FX Collection is a limited edition collection that contains six nail lacquers that deliver multi-dimensional shine, shimmer, and color. These polishes contain Orly’s exclusive Mineral FX technology, and let me tell you – these nail polishes explode with shimmer and color on your nails. Orly has a more technical explanation as to this Mineral FX technology…
“The innovation infuses natural rock minerals, crystals, and glass to give nails a special optical effect with extreme luster, rich pearlescence, and a smooth, sparkling spectrum of concentrated color. The MineralFX technology includes a special mica that allows for a clearer, vibrantly bright lustrous shimmer. Crystals allow for a mullti-dimensional color transformation. Glass particles carefully controlled in shape and size create a luminous phenomenon. This combination infused with the Silica and specific colors selected create this exclusive technology that gives nails a unique optical effect that’s magnifies as the lighting source intensifies or viewing angle changes”
However, I am fairly certain that most of us just flat out want to see the insanely unique colors and swatches, so let us start this colorful journey!
Galaxy Girl is purple with blue-green FX. I want to add my personal comments to each of these colors after describing the shade, but I honestly loved every single one of these shades as much as the next. They are all luxuriously rich with color, and the shimmer is so unique and noticeable that I foresee myself buying backups of this collection!
Halley’s Comet is a turquoise blue with green and yellow FX. This reminds me of Sephora by OPI’s “Mermaid To Order,” (which I love, by the way) only kicked up by one hundred notches. It is breathtaking.
Lunar Eclipse is blue with pink and purple FX. The FX colors were slightly hard to pick up on camera in this particular polish. The pink and purple effect is much stronger in person than it looks in the photographs. Drool.
Out Of This World is purple with pink and gold FX. You already know as a purple lover that this one made me swoon.
It’s Not Rocket Science is green with a gold and blue FX. This was the surprise stunner of the group, because I honestly did not think I would like it, based on the shade of green it is. This one actually reminds me of Halloween, with the goblin-like green. The FX technology on this one made it look especially flawless.
Space Cadet is green with purple and gold FX. Confession time…I know I said I had no favorites, but this one is actually my favorite, mostly because it is the most unique. This is unlike anything I have ever seen before, and even more importantly, anything I could have ever imagined up for a nail polish.
The formula on these was great – everything you see above is two coats, and they applied smooth, even, and all of them were opaque. I honestly get very giddy over really fun, innovative, unique products, and this collection had my heart fluttering all over the place.
Orly Cosmix FX Collection is limited edition, and available for $5 a bottle at various online retailers such as Head2Toe Beauty and Victoria’s Nail Supply (where I personally purchased from…they have very quick shipping!). You can also call your local Sally Beauty Supply store to see when they intend to get this collection in, if you’re more of a buy in person type of nail polish lover. Just be aware that the price of these in store is $10 a bottle, so you’re looking at a mark-up versus purchasing online. Also, be aware that this collection is in very high demand by beauty lovers everywhere, so scoop this up as soon as possible, especially if purchasing in store, as I know they will go quickly.
How do you feel about the Orly Cosmix FX Collection? Yay or nay? What is your favorite shade?
