I’ll let you in on a little secret…I’m a bit of a brush hoarder. I have a lot of makeup brushes, and I definitely have difficulty sharing them or giving them away to friends or family, because I just love makeup brushes so much, and I feel with the right one, you can perform magic. Yes, MAGIC. Give a carpenter the right tools and he can build you a house, give me the right makeup brushes and I can make my skin look flawless. BECCA Cosmetics The One Perfecting Brush is a brush that claims to do the job of ten other brushes and tools, cutting your makeup time in half. I put this brush to the test and my results are something you don’t want to miss…

The One Perfecting Brush is a goat hair brush, with bristles that are packed in a 3 1/2 inch horizontal design. It’s a dense brush, in terms of how the hair is packed, however, it is incredibly soft, so it doesn’t feel harsh on your face at all. In fact, the long, flexible bristles contour to your face, both horizontally and vertically. The curved corners of the brush are perfect for applying bronzer and blush, as well as highlighting, whereas the density of the brush overall will give your foundation and concealer a very smooth, airbrushed finish.
The One Perfecting Brush can be used with liquids, creams, powders and anything in between. The actual brush is completely non-porous, so the product sits on top of the brush, rather than absorbing it. It’s a win-win, because not only do you not waste any product that way, but the product actually ends up on your face, which is where you want it. It can be used effectively as a foundation brush, powder brush, contour brush, bronzer brush, stipple brush, blush brush, fan brush, concealer brush, kabuki, or sponge.
I found the size of the brush to be perfect for my hand. Gripping it is simple, and the hairs really fit into every crevice and contour on my face, including my nose, eyes, and cheekbones.
PUTTING IT TO THE TEST:
I have to admit that I was skeptical at first when I saw that you could use this to apply foundation. I typically use a dense, round brush to stipple foundation onto my face, and then I blend, blend, blend. This brush did a fantastic job at blending my foundation into my skin. It worked the product into every contour of my face, including the sides of my nose, around my mouth, and my forehead region. It was soft, and it gave me a very airbrushed looking finish.
Next up, concealer. I applied my concealer to the under-eye area, and used the length of the brush to pat the product in. The result was absolutely seamless. As a stipple brush, this works wonderfully. It patted the concealer onto my face without wiping it away or absorbing the product. All of my under-eye bags and blemishes were erased after just a few pats with this brush.
For my bronzer, I used the brush at an angle, while sucking in my cheeks (make a fishy face!). Again, it is the perfect shape for contouring your cheekbones and forehead area. I used the corners of the brush to lightly apply blush to the apples of my cheeks, and then I applied highlighter above my blush and bronzer. The rounded edges of the brush pick up the perfect amount of product for blush and highlighter. After I used a blending motion, my highlighter, blush, and bronzer looked perfect. Last, but certainly not least, when I sprayed my face with setting spray, I used the brush to lightly dab the setting spray in and set my makeup for the day.
THE FINISHED RESULTS:
I was more than impressed by this brush. I kept my eye makeup and lipstick simple so that you could focus on the skin here. I used The One Perfecting Brush for everything you see besides my eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick. It was able to perfect, conceal, sculpt, and highlight my skin without any trouble. The brush does shed slightly, especially upon first using it, but the more I used the brush, the less it shed. Overall, this is a great brush for someone just starting out with makeup or someone who travels a lot and is on-the-go. It fits into the palm of your hand, and can replace all those other brushes you would otherwise have to carry around. I know that I’ll be bringing this brush with me when I travel so that my makeup bag isn’t as cluttered!
