Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Lip Gloss is a fantastic drugstore plumping lip gloss, and one I have used since it was first released a few years ago. I tend to get reactions to plumping lip glosses, and I need to be careful which ones I use, so I don’t end up with a red rash all around my mouth, resulting in a “punched in the mouth” look (true story). Sally Hansen Lip Inflation never irritates my lips or the skin around my mouth, and they recently started expanding their shade range. One of the new shades for Fall 2010 is “Sonic Plum,” a berry plum shade that looks gorgeous on your pucker, while also making your lips look fuller. To see more photographs and swatches,
Sonic Plum has a gorgeous golden shimmer in it, making the berry plum shade really pop that much more. In the store I didn’t originally notice the golden sheen it contains, but it’s stunning in person. I like this shade because it fits in well with the darker lip shades of the season, without being too overpowering. This lip gloss is also semi-sheer, so you can apply just one coat for a lighter look, or apply a few coats for a very opaque look. Below is me wearing this lip gloss with two coats on my lips:

The plumping formula in Sally Hansen’s Lip Inflation lip glosses comes from cinnamon and ginger, which helps stimulate blood flow to your lips, plumping them. Peppermint in the formula provides a cooling and refreshing sensation on your lips, as well. So, instead of having your lips feel like they are on fire, you will feel a cooling sensation. The results are noticeable almost instantly, and within five minutes your lips feel and look poutier.
If you’re looking to dabble in plumping lip gloss, or simply want to try a plumping lip gloss that is inexpensive, Sally Hansen Lip Inflation is a great place to start. They come in mostly sheer, clean shades, and for Fall 2010, four new shades have been released with more pigment in them. Sonic Plum, is one of them. These lip glosses retail for $4.99 each at local drugstores nationwide.

Wow! I had no idea that Sally Hanson even made glosses! I do use her nail products, though and love them. I use the nail growth enhancer as well as the megashine top coat. I love the color…plums are my favorites!
I’m also excited to try the lip plumping benefits since I tend to stay away from them due to burning and irritation.
Thanks for sharing!
That color is stunning! Must keep an eye out for that.
