My obsession with dark lips this fall has only gotten worse, so when I can find a really great beauty bargain, like this Wet n Wild Lipstick in Cherry Bomb, it’s like having my cake and eating it too! This lipstick only set me back $1.49, which is an insanely low price for any piece of makeup nowadays. This is just one of the reasons I love Wet n Wild, besides their amazing quality for their inexpensive price tag, they allow you to try trends without the commitment. If dark lips aren’t your thing, you were set back the price of a pack of gum. Cherry Bomb is truly a gem, though, and it was the last one in the display at the drugstore, so I quickly snagged it. Let’s see swatches!
Dark lips are a trend this fall and winter, definitely more so than usual. Vampy lip colors always come back around this time of year, but it has become a huge trend to go even darker and bolder than usual. I’ve been seeing deep dark violet, burgundy, and even pure brown on the runway.
Used lightly as a stain, I patted the product onto my lips lightly to create a slightly darkened candy-apple red effect. Of course, the super sexy way to wear this lipstick is full on…
It plumps up your lips and makes them look really sultry when this color is worn full on. I even had a follower on Twitter (Hi Nicole!) tell me she went out and purchased this after I tweeted about it, and then she sent me a gorgeous picture of her wearing it. I really think this shade suits just about everyone due to the fact that it can be worn lighter or darker depending on your preference. I think it looks particularly striking against pale to light skin tones, blue or green eyes, and/or brunette hair. Overall, for $1.49, you just can’t go wrong with this lipstick and this particular shade.
