I am so insanely excited about this post right now that I can barely contain my furious typing and sweating to get this up. No, seriously. theBalm “The Muppet Show” Cast Your Shadow Face Palette is incredible. Not only does it have an incredibly adorable, classic Muppets theme to it which will entice old-school fans and makeup lovers alike, but the palette has superb quality and pigmentation. I don’t want to delay the extraordinary limited edition palette any more than I have to, so let’s get on with some photography and swatches, shall we?
The Muppets theme to this palette coincides with the release of a Muppets movie coming out this fall/winter. There are so many Muppets fans out there who are absolutely fanatical about anything Muppets themed, and then there are people who simply fondly remember watching them when they were younger and respect the show. I fall into the latter category, and I think the design on this palette is completely adorable. The area above the actual palette is adorned with the Muppets characters and a mirror.
Below the mirror, there are sixteen awe-inspiring shades of eyeshadow. Sometimes palettes can really disappoint me because they lack variety of colors and finishes, but this palette delivers on every angle. I love how each row to seems to have a different color “theme” to it, moving from dark to bright, to light.
Below the eyeshadows are three shades of lipstick/lipbalm. The reason I use a slash is because while they have the texture of a lip balm, and are very moisturizing, they have rich color payoff and stay put.
Each eyeshadow and each lip-color has a Muppets-themed name to it which I thought was very cute. For those of us who grew up watching the Muppets, you will get all of the puns made!
The three lip-colors are very rich in pigment which was a huge (great) surprise. Usually lip-colors in palettes are clear with a bit of tint to them, but these will give you full on color payoff. They have an amazing texture to them…almost somewhere in between a moisturizing lip-balm and a lipstick.
The first row of eyeshadows reminds me of autumn, including tones of gold, green, cranberry, and brown. In fact, each row of this palette reminds me of each of the four seasons. I don’t think this was done intentionally, but I couldn’t help but take notice after I swatched all of them.
The second row of eyeshadows contains shades of blues and greys, and totally reminds me of summertime and the beach.
The third row of eyeshadows screams “springtime” to me, with pastel and brighter hues. Is that blue shade not to-die-for?
The last row of eyeshadows reminds me of winter, when we see cold weather and snow. The nude shades in this row are very pigmented, just like the rest of this palette, and I cannot wait to use that white shade in the inner corners of my eyes!
Overall, you will not regret purchasing this palette, I guarantee you. The eyeshadows are buttery-soft, and some of the smoothest, most velvety feeling eyeshadows I have ever dipped my fingers in to. The color payoff for both the eye colors and the lip-colors is far above average for a palette.
theBalm “The Muppets Show” Cast Your Shadow Face Palette is extremely limited edition, and you can currently be placed on a pre-order list to purchase this palette. theBalm previously stated that only one-thousand of these palettes would be made, and you can be notified of when their next pre-order sign up is by following them on Twitter, and on Facebook. If you miss out on this palette, however, theBalm will be releasing the exact same palette with the same exact shades, only without the Muppet packaging sometime in December 2011!
