Some of my earliest beauty memories are actually from Chapstick, the classic lip care brand that has been around for over one-hundred years. I remember my parents always keep the classic formula around and there were always multiple tubes of it lying around, whether it be inside my dad’s coat pocket or on my mother’s bathroom sink. Before my mother would let me put lipstick on, there was Chapstick. Of course, we’ve also come a long way since then…
There are so many incredible formula’s of Chapstick available now. Whether you’re a beach bum hanging out in the sun all summer or you’ve got extremely chapped, cracking lips in the dead of winter, there is a tube you’ll love. Back when I was younger, we were much more limited in the different formula’s and flavors of Chapstick we had available, but now we’ve got choices…many choices!
Here are some of my personal favorite’s:
Chapstick Sun Defense SPF25 is perfect for year round, but it’s especially great for those hot summer days you’ll be spending a lot of time in the sunshine. It’s really important to practice safe sun exposure everywhere on your body, and one of the most overlooked spots is your lips. The skin there is very thin and can easily burn. This is my go-to from pretty much April through September. It gets extremely hot where I live and the sun can be pretty intense. I always make sure my lip products have SPF in them.
Chapstick Classic Cherry is the one I have the fondest memories of. It was my dad’s favorite to purchase when I was younger and I loved trying to get my lips to turn a flushed berry color when I was younger. Oh, and did I mention that Katy Perry wrote a song about this formula?
Chapstick Aloha Coconut is part of their Tropical Paradise Collection and also includes Mango Sunrise. This one is my modern day personal favorite. It smells exactly like real coconut and takes me on an instant vacation to the islands. It moisturizes my lips so well and keeps them from looking dry when I eventually apply lipstick. The new varieties of flavors and scents are all so delicious!
Something else worth mentioning about Chapstick, is that their lip products never cause irritation to my skin or break me out. It’s very important to me that my lip products do their job without causing any redness or blemishes around my mouth.
Chapstick is available at mass retailers nationwide, and you’ll find their mixed variety very pleasing. I’m a woman who always likes mixing up her lip balms, so it’s nice to switch out scents and formula’s depending on the time of year or my mood.
The Tropical Paradise Collection will be available at mass retailers and drugstores nationwide, with Aloha Coconut being a Walmart exclusive.
